The castle sets were originally built for Le baron Gregor (1935) starring Boris Karloff.

This was the first film to have the soon-to-be-trademark "triple slap," in which all three Stooges are slapped at once.

This and Playing the Ponies (1937) were the only two shorts from The Three Stooges to be directed by ace comedy director Charles Lamont, best known for his work with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello.

The first short to feature The Three Stooges in medieval times.
