Une étrange aventure

Edit
This film received its initial television broadcast in Altoona PA Wednesday 20 March 1957 on WFBG (Channel 10), followed by Philadelphia Tuesday 9 April 1957 on WFIL (Channel 6) and by Chicago Saturday 13 April 1957 on WBBM (Channel 2); it first aired in Amarillo TX 27 May 1957 on KFDA (Channel 19), in Lubbock TX 13 June 1957 on KCBD (Channel 11), in Hartford CT 26 June 1957 on WHCT (Channel 18), in Norfolk VA 28 June 1957 on WTAR (Channel 3), in Miami 7 August 1957 on WCKT (Channel 11), in Minneapolis 23 August 1957 on KMGM (Channel 9), In Windsor, Ontario 8 September 1957 on CKLW (Channel 9) (serving Detroit), in Tampa 14 October 1957 on WFLA (Channel 8) and in Akron 28 October 1957 on WAKR (Channel 49) ; however, because of legal complications it was later withdrawn from television and has never been released on DVD. It's in the Turner Classic Movies film library, and was aired, inadvertently, a couple of times on cable TV on TCM in 1994-1995, but has since been returned to the vaults where it will continue to languish until the legalities are untangled. Meantime, vintage film enthusiasts are missing out on a clever and entertaining mid-1930s mystery thriller.
