      Undistinguished Quota Quickie

Three lags get out of prison on the same day. Two of them have loot hidden in property that's been kept for them. They almost walk out of prison without it, but then remember to ask for The Umbrella. All too soon, they lose it, and an assortment of people wind up looking for it.

It's a Quota Quickie from the poorly named RealArt studios, and it's offered as the sort of bloodless scavenger hunt that Damon Runyon wrote in the US, but which, in the UK, smacked more of comedy and the music hall than prisons. There are some interesting people associated with it: Kay Hammond would go on to a fine stage career and her performance in BLITHE SPIRIT was recorded on film by David Lean; lead actor Harold French would become an accomplished movie director. Neither of them distinguish themselves particularly here, but no one does.
