Claudette Colbert, Ben Lyon, and Ernest Torrence in Le Long des quais... (1933)

Goofs

Le Long des quais...

Edit

Continuity

The news items about a woman giving birth in a water taxi, and the Empress of Britain docking that Joe reports over the telephone to the reporter at the news desk, had already appeared in print under his byline in the newspaper shown in the preceding sequence.
At the beginning of the movie, when Joe is talking to McCoy, he (Joe) has the third button on his shirt unfastened. He walks out of the shot and continues his conversation. In the next shot, his third button is buttoned, but he then begins to unbutton the shirt as he undresses for bed.

Factual errors

Joe calls the cat at first "Jerry," but the logical guess would have been any female name, as calico cats are almost always female. The cat's name is actually "Jenny."

Calico is tricolor---white, orange, and black. However, variations on these colors, such as cream, blue-black, reddish, brown might also be noted in the coat of a Calico cat. Two X chromosomes are needed for a cat to have that distinctive tri-color coat. If a cat has an XX pair, she will be female. Male cats have an XY chromosome pair, so they can't be Calicos. In rare cases, cats can have an extra X chromosome making them XXY. These cats present as male, but can be Calico because they have two X chromosomes. These cats are also sterile and can't be used to breed other Calico cats. This happens extremely rarely-only one in every 3,000 calicos is male.
