This covers the campaign commenced by the Battle of the Somme.It shows the battle from both sides.Much is reconstruction but there are newsreels of the action.We are shown how a number of soldiers won the VC.No mention is made of the 60000 casualties suffered by the British Army on 1st July,its worst ever day.

The realism of the movie is beyond description! Mixing in actual WW I footage makes this a masterpiece that any War historians would love.

Anyone who thinks war is glorious needs to watch this movie, it is very sobering. As a Combat Vet I have to rate this as one of the best films of 2021!
