Richard Barthelmess and May McAvoy in The Enchanted Cottage (1924)

Trivia

The Enchanted Cottage

Edit
A print of The Enchanted Cottage (1924) is preserved at the Library of Congress in Washington D.C.
In April 1925, the Omaha Community Playhouse's opening play was The Enchanted Cottage, starring Dodie Brando, mother of Marlon Brando.
Arthur Wing Pinero's play has at least four filmed versions: the silent drama The Enchanted Cottage (1924), the RKO color Le Cottage enchanté (1945) starring Robert Young and Dorothy McGuire, the TV episode The Enchanted Cottage (1955) and The Enchanted Cottage (2016).
Edward Lorusso's restored version of the film premiered on Turner Classic Movies on September 29, 2024.
A reviewer for Photoplay wrote, "To anyone with a poetic soul, this picture will be a rare treat. But the too literal person will be sadly disappointed. A picture for folk who dare to dream. As such we cannot recommend it too highly."
