A Jewel Production. Universal, not owning its own theater network, devised a 3-tiered brand system that helped market its features to independent theater owners: Red Feather (low budget programmers), Bluebird (mainstream releases) and Jewel (prestige productions). Jewel productions were often promoted as special engagements in hopes of attracting higher roadshow ticket prices. This branding system would cease in late 1929.
