    Apfel and DeMille

The 33 year old Cecil B. DeMille was being mentored by the director, Oscar Apfel in this film. Either Apfel was a lousy director, or DeMille didn't absorb any of the information that he passed on to him. This film lacked intimacy and warmth, and was as interesting as watching paint dry.
