After reading...Reviewer "Its to Clean",review' of this movie,I almost did not View it...But I decided,I would go Ahead....Totally contrary to this "Review" I found this Movie, especially in this time of Good Movie Drought....To be a most,Thrilling,Entertaining, edge of Seat,ww11 (of which I am a Long time Buff) Movie...there was No Need of extra enhancements...it was/is supposed to BE, in the 1940's (the Year that I was Born)..Great Acting,Cinematography,Sound track,Story Line,Sub Titling where required & Great Ending....I feel that it is a Great Pity that some,So Called reviewers, can Wreck a good movie ,due to their Lack of Good Taste & Patience...Overall..A VERY GOOD MOVIE... Enjoy !!!!
I reckon one can also make jokes about script lines, shooting lines and other stuff of that nature. But if you keep in mind that this is a low budget effort, you may be able to cut it some slack. This is about war and while it may not be accurate in certain things (someone said something about wardrobe, I have to admit, I didn't even notice, because again it was clear from the start this was not a movie that had a lot of money), the stunts and action scenes are really well done.
So if you are able to suspend your disbelief and just roll with the flow, you may have a bit to enjoy here. At the end we also get some text to put the whole thing in context and tell us what happened ... so while this isn't even close to being the best war movie, it also is far away of being the worst.

Is my first impression, its the lack of determination in their determination, the whole plot are far too smooth, the script is ludicrous and have no actors improvisation to it. the special effects are cheap except for the visuals of the explotions.
this film should have been made with a larger budget, a more misty and grell atmosphere, and i feel a bit let down on the historical accuracy presented to us. . you might wanna have a look cause youre in to the subject of ww2, but lower your expectations. the grumpy old man will not recommend.

The lack of proper uniform wardrobe ruined this movie for me. The "General's" uniform was tore up from the floor up. The "Major" was wearing enlisted marine blues.
Just pathetic.
Just pathetic.
I'm no expert, but when the British HQ are using cold war soviet radio sets, you have to wonder...
Lots of reviews commenting on costume errors too.
The scenes at sea were also laughable. Looked like it was filmed in the bathtub.
Weapons all wrong. No ejecting cases. No recoil. Rates of fire all wrong.
Seriously, why bother?
If you are going to make a period film, why would you not bother to make it accurate? It's not like the plot or script is going to carry the film....
I've seen re-enactments at the local village show do a better job of battle scenes.
Does this film have any saving graces? Errrrm. The snow looked real.
Saving Private Ryan it ain't.
