The Center for South Asian Studies (CSAS) at the University of Michigan has a film series. It's excellent. Tonight was 'Wakhri' by Iram Parveen Bilal. Film was inspired by Qandeel Baloch. There's another film in February and another in March. Best thing? They're free! If you're looking for something to do on an idle weeknight, look no further!
The series is curated by Veerendra Prasad, who is always on hand to set the stage for the films and interview the director when available afterward. Iram was delightful, and you should jump at the chance to see her film if you can!
This was held at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. Excellent. Well directed, excellent performance.
