In words from a Mexican

What did I saw?

The movie was bad, just was kind of lazy writing of the typical movie where he falls I'm love and want to win her heart, but they do it badly, the ending suck and the only reason it has a 5 and not a lower grade is that the cinematography and orientation were very good, the only nice thing about the movie.

One forgets how many Aryan Mexicans there are.

It's hard to know what to make of this eccentric tale of youthful misadventure. It teeters on the edge of being a delight of an idiosyncratic kind but there's just something else in there...something...bitter...

The main character is pretty vivid and this child actor is very charismatic. It's like a thought experiment of someone with so much genius having the worst priorities and making decisions that are both really bad at times and also very clever.

On the surface a sports movie but of course there's really something else on a deeper level. Of course there is a gambling element as sports movies seem to almost always use this to create meaningful conflict. It doesn't really have much of an effect but maybe that is the point? That's the problem, this movie might just be a bit too subtle for its own good.

It occured to me a long time after watching that this is a subversion of that kind of sports movie. It's absurd to think that even a genius can work a rag-tag bunch of losers into the winning team or can win the girl by the means he is using hear. It's a portrait of a person who is yet to acquire the wisdom that our greatest strength is knowing our shortcomings (which I still haven't learnt).

Visually dynamic and with an agreeable sense of humor to keep you watching until the end, this is a movie that you will think about for a while after its done but can I really call it "good"?

Certainly I haven't seen anything else quite like it. A movie that was made with a lot of skill and know-how but think this is one of those times when an experiment did not yield the desired results.

A sour and fascinating experience nonetheless.

Just when I thought Mexican cinema can't get worse

This is a complete piece of garbage. It uses all the cliches you can imagine, very bad acting, the worse characters I've ever seen and also it has no objective, in the end, all the movie has no sense at all. By the way, the main character should be burning in the 7th circle of hell right now. Just don't watch it, it's better hor your mental health.

Main character is a jerk

The movie itself is good, but the more it went on, the more I hoped the kid got neither girl! Mind you, he looked about 12 while the girls seemed at least 15 or 16. I couldn't see why either would be interested in this child to start with. As it went on to the end I really disliked him. The mother seemed like an interesting character and I wish a little more time had been spent on whatever was happening in his parents relationship. I think this is my first Mexican movie (albeit dubbed in English. Quite badly at times, particularly the young sister's voice. I might have preferred the subtitles to be honesty). Mostly i enjoyed it.

It's not for everyone, but at least I laughed!

Good family comedy, works better if you speak Spanish and a plus if you grew up in Mexico during the 90's. Very relatable for a generation that now is in their thirties.

Waste of time

What a waste of time. The main character is a completely jerk I don't know when the movies change but in this one the popular ones are sort of good or razonable and the unpopular are the jerks. I mean it's alright because not always the popular people are mean and viceversa but i think this movie just got twisted.

Fun... not cathartic!!

As a Mexican I can say most movies made in this country during the last decade (in exception of alternative filmmaking) are sadly mass produced, starring the same old actors and slightly tweaking narrative arches for the same old story. "Todas las pecas del mundo" May or May not be one of said movies, however, this is a much better product than other comedies with WAY higher budgets (no, it is not a Netflix movie) and with recognized studios behind them, like the somewhat recent and pretty much painful to watch "overboard" (hombre al agua) and others you may be lucky enough to have NOT seen like "todos caen"

Anyway, I think it's important to understand any movie's purpose. This flick is visibly intended for mere entertainment and it does not miss that point if you like silly yet salty Mexican humor.

If you are looking for a movie with deep plots and characters, go elsewhere.

Refreshing!

First of all, I watch Mexican films once in a blue moon, but I was really curious about this one. It's good to see actual teenagers playing teenagers and finally seeing new faces. Also take in account this is set in the 90s, so it's super nostalgic. This is not an original story, but you can bet the director did a good job portraying it. First of all, the cinematography is beautiful, the shots, the closeups, the editing in general is well done. The soundtrack is perfect for each scene; I would have loved to listen to more songs in Spanish though. The actors are all natural, of course a few bad ones but it's ok, it is still enjoyable to see them, especially the main character. NO, you are not supposed to love him or hate him; he's just a regular teen. There is a lack of dialogues and character development, also a few cringy scenes, especially the ones with the teacher. The humor is not awkward, but it could've been better. No, it's not a perfect film, but I am glad to see new ideas in Mexican films. The director should definitely keep it going and people should give it a try.

Definetly Worth Watching

The movie follows a very confident young lad through middle school. He has his heart set on a young girl, while the possible love of his life is a girl he considers his best friend. Not the ending I expected, nor the story I expected. Quite unusual.

See it, it's reality in many ways. I don't regret watching it, and I enjoyed it.

A last note, on NetFlix it's available with English audio, which is quite well done, but different from the subtitles.

I liked it

I'm always on the lookout for Spanish media, so naturally I found this. And watching it, I liked it. Does it.lag on at times? Sometimes, but for the most part, I was engaged. The male lead's pretty good. Very believable as a typical kid trying to survive school as well as get the attention of his crush, unaware that his new friend likes him.

The movie's unique in that it breaks the typical tropes we all know when it comes to these coming-of-age school movies. What are they you ask? Watch and see for yourself.

Don't watch this movie, if you don't know "Juca" or "Loreto Peralta"

The story is garbage, the end doesn't make any sense. I only watched because I like juca videos from YouTube but this is not a great movie to watch. Maybe with your friends in the background of your living room it would be okay.

Pathetic

In the movie you expect to cheer the little guy on BUT the little guy was the jerk.

He was every thing you would expect the main character NOT to be.

Selfish, self centered,a lousy friend, temper tantrum thrower when HE didn't get his way!

All in all the JERK of the whole movie!
