Infinity Nikki does a beautiful job of combining story elements with gameplay mechanics, creating an experience that both casual players and seasoned pros can get lost in. Nikki clears out enemies by throwing simple orbs at them, a nice change from the usual complicated battle system.
This might be appealing to newcomers, but those who are used to more complex battle systems found in titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might find it too straightforward. The whimsical exploration of Miraland’s vibrant landscapes presents this task rather than the complexity of battle.
Players are encouraged to connect with the environment in novel ways by the puzzle-solving mechanics that add another layer to the gameplay. It takes a mix of platforming and observing skills to collect Whimstars, which keeps players interested without being too much.
Players can navigate Miraland at their own pace, creating a sense of agency that enriches the story.

Netflix used to have a massive library of anime available for fans to watch, but like most streaming services, the company has seriously downsized its offerings in the last few years. These days, Netflix tends to focus largely on its own original series and movies to draw viewers in. That said, Netflix subscribers can still get more than their fill of great fantasy anime on the service.

Some entries in Netflix's anime catalog take viewers to faraway worlds, allowing them to experience daring tales of adventure, and hopefully see the heroes defeat the villains. Others are light, slice-of-life fantasy series for audiences to unwind with after a long day's work. It's a good mix and makes Netflix more than worthwhile for longtime anime fans and new fans who are exploring the medium.

These titles range from beloved JRPGs like the Tales and Ni no Kuni series, western-rpg titans like The Elder Scrolls, and FromSoftware's genre-revolutionizing Souls-likes.

It’s mostly forgotten now, but the PlayStation 3 actually had an incredibly rocky launch. The console’s architecture initially made it difficult to develop for, early exclusives were underwhelming, and the $599 price tag (roughly $800 in 2021 dollars) for the top end launch model was just too rich for many gamers.
But with time, those issues faded away. The higher price tag, due in part to the then-novel Blu-ray disc drive, just meant games could be larger and more detailed than ever before. Developers quickly adapted to the console, and now the PS3 is just as fondly remembered as any other Sony console.
As we look back at the 15th anniversary of the PS3’s launch, it’s time to rank the 20 games that still stand out as the very best on the console:
20. LittleBigPlanet 2
2011 | Media Molecule
LittleBigPlanet 2 is a solid platformer, but where the series has always shined is in its creation tools.

The Ni No Kuni series is well-loved for its unique art style and simple storytelling, both of which are illustrated in the hundreds of side quests in Revenant Kingdom. The Jrpg, which looks a lot like some of Studio Ghibli's best movies, was released back in 2018 and became an instant hit with gamers around the world, with an impressive 2.8 million units sold (according to Gematsu). With fans eagerly awaiting the global launch of Ni No Kuni: Cross Worlds, it's a good time to look back at some of the side quests that played a major role in making Revenant Kingdom the iconic game it is today.

Let me get this sordid little detail out of the way: I’m not the type of guy who gets easily charmed by whimsical stories. I tend to avoid animated Disney films, as well as anything and everything from Pixar. I don’t want to say that I’m jaded, but whenever a game, movie, or book tries its hand at being “charming” or “sentimental,” my eyes begin to roll and glaze over before my brain has an opportunity to properly react. It’s not that I have anything against whimsy, charm or sentimentality, but most stories use these elements to emotionally manipulate audiences without truly earning this hefty emotional investment. As you can probably tell, it bugs me a lot, and I tend to avoid projects I feel employ these tactics. Needless to say, I tend to miss out on some really great stories as a direct result. Such is my double-edged sword.
