'Atrangi Re' is Dhanush's 3rd Hindi Movie after 'Raanjhaana' and 'Shamitabh' and 2nd collaboration with Anand L Rai.
The song 'Chaka Chak' in Atrangi Re was inspired from the song 'Badi Mushkil', from Lajja, which is sung by National Award Winner - Shreya Ghosal.
'Rinku' is the nickname of Sharmila Tagore, who is the paternal grandmother of Sara Ali Khan.
Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan were offered the role of Sajjad Ali Khan. Later, Akshay Kumar ended up taking the role after it was rejected by them.
Akshay Kumar and Anand L Rai announced their second collaboration 'Raksha Bandhan' during the making of this film.
