Tomer (Niv Nissim) and Michael (John Benjamin Hickey) browse 'atraf' for potential casual sex partners. Atraf was a Tel Aviv-based LGBT website and app which was hacked in October 2021, and its users' profiles and information were later leaked to the public.
The film was set and shot in the Florentin neighborhood, in the southern part of Tel Aviv; Tomer's (Niv Nissim) apartment was a combination of several Florentin apartments as well as a constructed set. Nissim had previously lived in several apartments in the neighborhood and was familiar with the area.
The story of the tragedy in Michael's (John Benjamin Hickey) past was based on the experience of a close friend of director/writer Eytan Fox's, a gay couple in Israel whose surrogate child died during birth.
