Like most spanish series I have seen on netflix, they always deliver on production and visuals.
This one is no exception and it's lovely to see and has a very attractive cast. The first two episodes are stories within themselves that slightly bleed into each other and begin and end fairly well. The third episode however I felt absolutely no connection to the first two. They seemed to try too hard. I understand they used some very famous actresses in the last episode but they did not make this episode shine..
The first two episodes were a testament to the times and showed character. If you're an English speaker the dub over might be weird and nonsensical because they use quite a bit of slang. I am learning spanish so I did not witness the English dubbing first hand.

Large, well built, secluded and surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains - this is the family home where four sisters joined by a childhood secret, celebrate Christmas at three distinct phases of their lives i.e. during their - teens as daughters, adulthood as mothers and elderly age as grandmothers.
It's a well made classic series, showing the conservative and anticipatory atmosphere post World War II. Interpersonal relationship and antics of the kid sisters is a gleeful watch.

A really good show for a prechristmas sunday evening with a tea and some speculatius. Good mix of drama, great acting and an arthousy cinematography!
For those familiar with Spanish acting will know that this is series is an ensemble cast of some of the finest Spanish actors. The four leads in the final episode are pure Spanish acting royalty.
The show is a slow burnt until the final episode where everything is revealed and which contains the best acting of n the show with dramatic and funny moments in equal measure. Highly recommended.

Episode one has a good tight script, fast-paced, attractive cast. Excellent drama.
Episode two - the character Esther doesn't ring true to the one in Episode one (now an adult) - overdressed, over made-up and poor acting. Valentina is excellent, as is Adela. The father is brilliant.
Episode three - it all begins to fall apart. The script and plot is good but the actors are dreadful. Valentina, now much aged, looks more like Esther from Episode two. But what has happened to the beautiful sultry Esther from episode two? She looks completely different: fat, bloated and sedate. Plot could have been superb and deeply moving but the actors are dire. Especially Adela.
