I was pretty bummed to read earlier this week that Wings Hauser had passed away. While often written off as a C-level action star thanks to a long line of eighties and nineties direct-to-video flicks, the fact is Hauser was beyond talented, and when he put the effort in, he could be unforgettable. Such was the case when Michael Mann cast him against time as a slimy lawyer for big tobacco in The Insider where, in one ninety-second scene, he and Bruce McGill all but walk away with what, for the rest of the 158-minute running time, is ostensibly a star vehicle for Al Pacino and Russell Crowe.
Such was the power of Wings, who could be great in the right role. I also vividly remember him being terrific as a slimy bounty hunter hired by Luke Perry’s Dylan in an atypically action-packed episode of Beverly Hills 90210, while...

With a little over a month away from its premiere, the anticipation surrounding House of the Dragons 2 is extremely high, thanks to the first one, which reinvigorated fans’ interest in the IP. Moreover, fans are excited to see how Lady Baela Targaryen’s story will expand in the new one, as despite having less screen time in the first season, she did succeed in leaving a lasting impact.
Although many were reasonably left impressed by Bethany Antonia’s portrayal of the character, a vocal minority online was upset following the diversity presented in the Targaryen/Velaryon clan. But Antonia didn’t let the trolls bring her down and came out as gay in response to one racist rant.

Fans of 'One Of Us Is Lying' can find similar teen drama and mystery in 'Get Even' starring high schoolers wrongly accused of murder. 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' brings guilt and horror in a TV series inspired by the classic film, with a group of teens haunted by a killer. 'Cruel Summer' offers a gripping thriller with teen characters dealing with shocking reveals and dark truths in an intense story like 'One Of Us Is Lying'.
Thanks to its success, fans are already looking for more shows like One Of Us Is Lying. The Peacock series is one of the latest bestselling young adult novels to get a small-screen adaptation for a streaming service. The series is The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars and follows four high schoolers who become murder suspects after a student dies while in detention.

Melissa McCarthy has gained praise for her portrayal of the sea witch Ursula in Disney’s live action remake The Little Mermaid, but another actress played her human form. With some updates to the curse and changes to “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” Melissa McCarthy’s Ursula's story and character is very similar to the animated villain. However, there is a part of the animated film where Ursula decides to step on land.
Following closely to the original 1989 animated film, The Little Mermaid remake depicts Ursula deciding to take matters into her own tentacles. Ursula decides to go on land to stop Prince Eric from kissing Ariel before the third day. Since Ursula has Ariel’s voice, she is able to convince Eric that she is the one who saved him. While in the original animated film, Eric was clearly hypnotized by Ursula’s spell, the live action Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) seems...

Disney's "The Little Mermaid" is filled with plenty of familiar faces, including Halle Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, and Javier Bardem. But the film also features a handful of fresh faces, like Jessica Alexander, who plays Ursula's human alter ego, Vanessa.
Alexander wanted to pursue acting from a young age and landed her first major role on the Italian teen drama, "Penny on M.A.R.S.," which aired on Disney Channel in Italy from 2018 to 2020. Following her success on the show, Alexander went on to star in the BBC iPlayer series "Get Even," which helped her gain popularity onscreen and land roles in "Glasshouse," "A Banquet," and "Into the Deep" between 2021 and 2022.
In March 2021, Alexander got her big break stateside when she was cast to play Vanessa in the live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid" and has been on everyone's radar ever since. Touching on being a part of the film, the actor told Something About Rocks,...

Emily Carey is overcoming fears one scene at a time. Before playing Alicent Hightower in House of the Dragon, the actor had only appeared in minor roles in films like Get Even and Anastasia, so they never expected to be cast in the Game of Thrones prequel series. "As soon as I heard Game of Thrones," they told E! News Sept. 13, "I was like, 'I have no chance of getting it then because that's too much of a long shot.'" And yet, the 19-year-old was cast in one of the most important roles of the series, playing the wife of King Viserys (Paddy Considine) and daughter of the King's Hand Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans). Artist collaborations have become so common in music that most of the songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in 2020 have been team-ups. But despite musicians trading verses every which way, it’s rare for one artist to have multiple nominations for Record of the Year in the same year. But there are so many combos in the current race that we could potentially see a few repeats.
SEEGrammys 2021: Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Post Malone and more could rise in pop performance categories
The only artist to show up twice in the same year to date was Pharrell Williams, who won as a featured artist on Daft Punk‘s “Get Lucky” in 2014 and was also nominated that year as a featured artist on Robin Thicke‘s “Blurred Lines.” This contest has many more double-dippers than that, starting with Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber. They could be nominated...

What happens when four teenage girls come together to expose the wrongs of their peers?
Well, as it turns out, a whole heck of a lot.
Get Even starts hot and never cools down during its 10 episode run, as the core four girls go from vigilante heroes to being framed for murder overnight.
Spoilers abound, so please mind this warning before venturing on!
There's a lot of teen fare out there these days, with Riverdale and Elite being two of the more popular offerings on Netflix these days. And Get Even has a lot in common with both.
Bannerman School is like every other elitist private school you've seen on television, so it's not exactly breaking the mold in that regard.
But you have to give the show credit for going all-in on just how much wealth inhabits the school with teachers and students alike driving up in ridiculously expensive sports cars daily.

The teen genre is a TV mainstay, but it often doesn’t get as much love in the streaming era. Shows that thrived in that heady time when the decline of network TV and the rise of Twitter culture met somewhere in the middle—the Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars of the world—ruled, but don’t have quite the same cultural cache now. But that doesn’t mean we don’t still love them. So, when Get Even, a British teen thriller about four girls at an elite boarding school who start a “getting even” club, dropped on Netflix, we took notice.
The series premiered on the BBC iPlayer back in February, but only just became available to American viewers today, dropping in its entirety on Netflix. It is a British series from Holly Phillips based on the “Don’t Get Made” book series by American author Gretchen McNeil.

As subscription-based, on-demand gaming services have gained popularity in recent years, both PlayStation Now and Xbox Game Pass have established their positions at the top of the market by offering a variety of content and great value for subscribers. There’s just one burning question demands to be answered: Which one is better?
It’s a tough one. Each has advantages over the other – Ps Now has more attractive pricing plus its library of 700+ titles makes Game Pass’ library of 200+ titles look paltry in comparison, whereas Xbox Game Pass tends to offer more recent games as well as including first party titles on the day of release.
It’s hard to say which one is better overall, but taken one month at a time, we may get our answer. So join us as we look at what’s been added and what was removed from each service and declare which...

The BBC and BritBox North America are bringing back Kay Mellor’s lottery drama The Syndicate, which was briefly remade by ABC, five years after its last season.
The British public broadcaster and the U.S. streamer have ordered a fourth season, set between Leeds and Las Vegas, of the drama, whose third season aired in 2015.

It will air on BBC One in the UK with BritBox, a joint venture between the BBC and ITV, airing it exclusively in the U.S and Canada. It is produced by Mellor’s Rollem Productions.
