Trivia

Break Even

Edit
The black Ford Raptor used throughout the film was also being used in Top Gun: Maverick (2022). The two productions shared use as they were filming simultaneously.
Actor Steve Guttenberg was suggested to the producers by Dwayne Johnson who had just worked with him on Ballers (2015).
Filmmaker, Shane Stanley had always dreamed of owning a speed boat named "Fair Warning" since first hearing the well-known Van Halen album. The boat, which was purchased with an all-white hull, was shipped from Northern California to Valencia and custom designed by one11ink with the name boldly displayed on the sides in Edward Van Halen's trademark guitar colors.
The average water temperature while filming at the island was 52 degrees. Several underwater scenes were filmed but due to poor visibility scrapped in post-production. Being a certified diver, Brent Bailey did all of his own SCUBA work alongside filmmaker Shane Stanley who is also a certified diver and doubled for Erik Fellows
The hero car (beat up Suburban) caught fire during its first take on camera in the middle of the Mojave Desert. While filming it went through three alternators and several other parts which were patched together to keep it running strong through production. It was later sold at auction for $500.
