I like to appreciate the culture, the difference...

It looks at Sade's life, family and faith through the lens of an unconventional encounter with God in this modern age. God Calling is a redemptive story that looks at Sade's life, family and faith through the lens of an unconventional encounter with God in this modern age.

Nollywood likes gospel movies, and everything was going very well, a tragedy whose fault is exclusively female (after all, the wife stopped working to take care of the daughter and failed), God using contemporary means of revelation, the cell phone, God using the mother to uniting couples, through a "punishment" of momentary blindness, is not at all okay, but that's okay, it's gospel... I like to appreciate the culture, the difference, it has its comic tone in the fight between grandparents, but everything is very exaggerated, but pleasant to watch...

Messy, forgettable, slow and boring

The film started out pretty strong, but then it went downhill fast. Its characters (especially Sades) are messy and have many poorly executed emotions and phases of grief or happiness. The movie can be uplifting but it gets ruined by constant unneeded crying. Seriously there is so much crying that it becomes a problem. It is very and i mean a VERY slow film and only starts to begin to get somewhat interesting near the end. So that is why this film (in my opinion) is terribly forgettable.

An amazing piece of work

Truly, I went into the movie not really expecting much but I was pleasantly surprise. There are some scenes i am yet to recover from. Beautiful piece of work, stuff that classics are made of. I am really going to see it again!

Very Cheesy movie

Aside from being a low-budget movie and the bad acting, I can not believe that the writer wrote such a cheesy story without considering that we are in the twenty-first century!

Jesus decided to give all his miracles to the main character and her extended family!

It is such a waste of time!

Best Christian Movie!!!

I love this movie! It's so well done - The acting was awesome and the storyline was refreshing. Kudos to the entire cast and crew! Definitely a must-watch!

P. S. You'll need tissues.

Real and Ridiculously UNreal

What I loved about the movie was the powerful grief shown by the actors. And the genuine emotions from others. That was real. Dialog was well written too, but the script and movie? Not only unrealistic, but ridiculously so.

There was a scene that was cut or redone about Sade believing she was to go East. Francis was incredulous BUT...she hadn't even said "East" at that point lol (at least not in Netflix version).

And the miracles, ideology, storyline..very much shows just how much superstition still exists in Nigeria and in Christianity.

The Bible was written with grossly outdated Bronze Age ideas AND btw, infidelity is the ONE reason the Christian hoky religion slave book allows for divorce. So yeah, Nigeria still has a loong way to go.

Music was very pretty.

God called me.......

As He is my witness, I was guided to view this awesome movie yesterday. Even though I was looking for a movie for distraction, I was compelled to watch this extraordinarily crafted movie yesterday. It fell in line perfectly with the personal spiritual search I've been on lately. During the time I watched, answer after answer to so many questions came to me. I'm still astounded.

Watch this, please, with an open mind.

Weird Careless Errors

The lack of detail was odd in the movie. Like when the guitar is delivered in a small longer box but the box is much smaller than the guitar and how are they using the state of Virginia license plates in Lagos, Nigeria? Sades comes to the house after being in water but her clothes look completely dry. She cries mascara tears constantly,,,after just waking up, after swimming under water...you name it. She had to be constantly applying mascara. This movie is not for anyone with an eye for detail. It will drive you crazy. There is a lot of over-acting in this movie, as well. I wanted to like it, but didn't.

Very uplifting

I knew about this movie in 2018 but didn't watch it. I somehow stumbled upon it few days ago from 22 Dec, 2020 and started glued to it. It was a 2hours movie that I rather shouldn't call entertainment but a moment of empowerment. If I was having doubts, my conviction got better... I was able to connect with the movie because obviously, I have experienced a touch of God before.

I say "yes" again to God's call.

Beyond a movie, best ever, so much depth

One of the best movies ever.

So much depth on life, living, grief, faith, doubt, fear, winning, failing and hope.

I actually cried! For someone like me to cry, it must be seriousssss😌😅

Congratulations to the team, you created something truly spectacular!

GOD is calling...

Thank you for a perfect example of how HE works in our lives: This movie is a gut-wrencher, reminding us how He works through imperfect, repentant people who are only called to obey Him. He does the rest. He is faithful to complete what He has started. What a GOD honoring movie, showing the Triune in goodness and glory and power. Thank you.

fantastic is an understatement!

There are some movies you know are going to be great just from watching the trailers and this was the case with God Calling.

So many layers included that placed God Calling above and beyond the typical faith-based stories seen in the past.

The fact that the screenplay touched on drug use from a rich woman's perspective (i.e. Sade) was quite unique! Then, we had the inter-ethnic relationship which ignited father-son tensions, and the theme of depression was treated with so much depth, we were amazed as this is ground-breaking in Nollywood😃

Impressive lessons learnt. The emotional and powerful lines delivered touched our souls, brilliant...

A big shout out to Diana Egwuatu, Seun Ajayi n Karibi Fubara!

Teeny weeny issues included the audio which wasn't quite perfected; some scene sequences were incomplete and the cinematography could have been better refined.

Nonetheless, these can be overlooked!

Wonderful story

The movie has a lot of moral lessons. Great role interpretation by Zainab Balogun. If you have lost your way, this movie all you need to re-direct your path to God.

Great Movie about relationship with God

I totally enjoyed watching this movie, it stirred up something in my spirit to be persistent with my walk with God and was a reminder that He is my father I can always talk to anytime. There is room for improvement for a better execution.

Uplifting movie

Ok not the best of best movies ever, but it is not trying to be. Take movie for what it is, a journey. Starts off good solid story and keeps you intrigued. Mid movie drags a bit if stay with movie it rebounds from that and gets better as moves along after mid-point.

Not a big budget production- yet with what have(remember filmed in Nigeria) did a good job, not full crowds and lots of extras, A worth while movie to watch- I did twice on back to back days. Have some faith in movie and might be surprised as does get a happily ever after ending in a manner.

Very uplifting

Interesting approach on how God talks to people using modern technology. The actors are believable and one actually gets to learn about nigerian culture But it is on how God acts and saves people that the real power of movie comes from.

Uplifting, inspirational, beautiful movie.

My husband chose this movie end I didn't want to watch it. But I became totally sucked in and couldn't leave the room. The story of Sade is sad, but all that she goes through brings healing to her broken heart and changes her life in a meaningful and positive way. My husband and I both loved this movie!
