Sam Concepcion & Nadine Lustre both re-invented themselves yet again for their roles in this refreshing Filipino dance-inspired musical film. They have both showcased their fascinating talents in dancing, acting and singing. Some fresh talents were also introduced and the group's journey was worth the watch throughout the entire film. I wouldn't be surprised if Nadine would be awarded another "Best Actress" award as the challenges for this role were difficult for just any actress to pull off with such passion & subtleness. Well done to the cast and crew.
I really love the movie. It was all in all a great movie. Something new in Philippine cinema. You will love every beautiful places shown in this movie. I love the soundtrack which is very pinoy. Not your typical Filipino movies. I will rewatch again soon.
Cinematography was nice. But the plot was not great. I believe, the movie was not able to portray the role of nadine as someone who would excel in dancing. Mejo matigas katawan. She wasnt focus that much sa camera pag sumasayaw. Marunong lang siya sumayaw but nothing awesome about it. And she was an island gurl, no internet there and she barely leaves the island but she manages to have her nails to be on acrylic/fake nails. She was not able to capture the hearts of some audience that she lives in an island. And lastly, it was a world wide dance competition but, the competitors from other countries were NOT THAT good. As in literally not good. No wonder it flopped. But dancers were great.
I expect a lot more from this movie, following the great trailer and poster. What I've got is just typical Filipino teledrama story. (Just like watching a reality competition with a contestant with a sob story). I only liked the movie's cinematography and it has some pretty great shots.
