Great Film

What a fantastic film with a great message. Everyone needs to see this and learn from it. Great acting and superb photgraphy and video work.

The film was done very professionally in Indiana. I have seen many of the areas that it was filmed at.

The Text keys on "texting and driving" which is one of the main reasons behind automobile fatalities in this era. Dont text and drive!

Enjoyed the entire plot and work the production team and actors put into this film. Hopefully this film saves lives by making people think twice before they pick up that cell phone to read or respond to a text message. Im sure it will.

Again great job! This film is a winner!

Who are giving this 10's?

By far the worst acting I have ever seen in a movie. We couldn't get past all the God references ever 5 minutes.

Wife and I were just hoping to see scenes from the local area, so we were extremely disappointed! This was ground shakingly horrible and we couldn't stomach anymore after 30 minutes. Where are the critics reviews on this? It seems everyone giving this 9's and 10's had to a). Have been paid off, or b) Had to be friends or family of this monstrosity!

I don't know who are rating these as Best Lead Actor, Best Supporting Actor, etc but seeing these awards tied to this movie were laughable!

Family film

The Text is a film that needs to be seen by anyone who drives! It is a story that shows how one moment can change the life's of many people. It is also a Christian film and shows the importance of forgiveness. The cast has wonderful chemistry and the writing, cinematography and editing are second to none! There are also several original musical scores throughout. The Text is just one of the finest independently made films you will find today! You will never regret sitting down to watch these life lessons unfold before your eyes. It should be required to be seen by all young adults learning to drive.

ENTERTAINING and EDUCATIONAL for the FAMILY

There are a number of stories within the story that the viewer may not be aware of at the time of viewing. But upon later reflection, there are many lessons that seem to come to the surface.

As one might suspect from the story title, The Text movie reminds the viewer of the dangers that might exist if texting while driving. Relationships and the complexities and heartaches that exist within them, as well as a strong thread of forgiveness, run throughout this very well-done story by Dreams Come True Candy Beard and her right-hand-man, son, Daniel Beard.

The plethora of strong actors take the viewer on the journey with them, allowing them to walk alongside and in the shoes of one or more of the characters. In this way, the viewing experience not only is enjoyable, but also an educational experience, providing topics for numerous future family discussions.

The movie is safe viewing for the entire family, other than perhaps young children who may possibly be traumatized by some events.

Well done Dreams Come True team!

Turn off your phone and buckle up

Grab a comfy blanket and hold on as you travel a high dialogue, heavy topic 2 hour film that holds nothing back. You'll see first hand on how our decisions affect those around us and can alter the course of another persons life. This rollercoaster of emotional topics has you wanting to jump off the ride, but you can't, because you want to know how it ends. Who lives? Who dies? How can our faith and trust in God turn around such a mess caused by one little action by one person that was warned of the consequences. I don't know that she even knew the ripple effect it would create. The writer considered all of the possibilities and left nothing on the cutting room floor. See for yourself and discover what can happen with a simple text.

The Text

I really enjoyed this movie. It was well written and directed. The actors and actresses were amazing and did their jobs very well. They did a very thorough job of making you feel "in the moment " during the movie. I know it was time consuming getting all the scenes together . My daughter played the part of young Rachel and really enjoyed "being a movie star ". She was treated with love and kindness from everyone she met during filming. I would love for her to be involved in more movies like this. It's a film that anyone would want to watch and share with friends or family. I've always loved movies that are not only entertaining but also carry life messages to the audience.

Praise for "the TEXT"

The Text is a feature film with several powerful messages. Heavy topics are explored in a family friendly way that doesn't diminish the gravity of the message. From published author and award winning filmmaker Candy Beard, the Text will inspire thought provoking conversations amongst those of all ages. Award winning cast, filmed and produced in the American heartland by a cast and crew with Christian ideals, and family values. I'm proud to have been part of consulting on the medical scene, and being able to support the production of this important piece of cinematography financially as well. The Text is more than just a movie, it's a warning call to action. Watch the Text... two thumbs way up!

The Text is an absolute beautiful story.

This movie is very well written. It is a story that will definitely hold your interest. A movie that should be watched by all. The actors were also amazing. All, of age drivers should see this movie. I just know in my heart, it would help save some lives. It will make you think the next time before you text/or read a text when driving the next time. I have watched Candy Beard's movies before, and I can honestly say, this movie is a 10 + and my favorite of all this filmmakers movies. I hope you will take the time to watch, The Text. It's an excellent movie. Have a family night and view it. It's free on Tubi! Keep tissues handy, you may find yourself laughing one second and crying the next.

I just want to urge everyone to see it!

This film premiered at the gorgeous Rose Hulman campus theater and there had been so much publicity surrounding this movie, for 3 reasons really. (1) Public Safety - it is about the dangers and consequences of texting and driving which is a huge problem nationwide. (2) Because it was the last film that this mother and son team was going to produce (so sad to hear) and (3) Because they got one of our local TV personalities (Julie Henricks) to make an appearance so like I said, there was a lot of talk about this film. They even took out a billboard on Wabash Avenue to publicize this film's world premiere at Rose Hulman and I could not resist attending. The experience of seeing this great film in such an immaculate theater was something else!

I positively loved everything about this film, from the incredible acting talents of the 2 main couples, the writing, the incredible cinematography, fabulous editing and the music....this film scores so high on my list of favorite films. Though it's a little over 2 hours, it sure does not feel like two hours. The pacing was incredible and leaves the viewer on the edge of their seats thanks to the extremely talented Editor.

I personally have never and would never even think about texting while I am driving. It's just stupid and very selfish, plain and simple: Don't do it!! Every time you text and drive, you are putting someone's life (multiple lives actually) in great danger. I value life too much to risk it. But this film needed to be made to wake people up to the dangers.

But aside from telling us the dangers of T&D, this film talks about mistakes, the need for forgiveness and more. I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has not seen it yet, I just want to urge everyone to see it! And like with all the films from DCTF (with the exception of their very first movie about DV) you would never know that this film (The Text) is an independent production because they strive for perfection and they nailed it!

Much deeper than it appears!

The Text is one of those films that will touch hearts and offer hope to those struggling with guilt and forgiveness. Although The Text does deal with the dangers & consequences of texting and driving, it really uses this issue to portray just how much broken relationships impact our lives and the lives of those around us. The emotion in this film was heavy throughout- appropriate for the context, and the actors did a great job conveying that emotion.

Then the story turns the corner, bringing hope and showing how forgiveness and reconciliation is possible in even the most hopeless situations. A much needed message!

Surprisingly impressed

I went to the red carpet event since i knew some of the actors. Being an independant film, I was a little sceptical of how good it would be. Candy did an excellant job on the screenplay. They did an excellant job filming it. The story was very prominant using driving and texting as the story backdrop. It happens way to often in todays society. Then it goes through the tough process of forgiveness. This is not an easy act but is taught as living biblically. This story addressed it superbly. This is definately a film to watch and one to have your newly licensed teen drivers watch. This is just one of Candy's Dreams Come True films. After this, watch them all.

Awesome Movie

Right from the start the movie grabs your attention. Actors and actresses did an amazing job. Well written. You really get caught up in storyline. Like you're there with them.

The Text touches home for adults and teens. A wholesome family film. Reminds us that life can change in the blink of an eye. Phone addictions along with others can cause great problems in relationships and have deadly consequences. The Text should be required before getting a drivers license.

The Text really touches home for the majority of the populations. A lot of us have replaced human contact for a cell phone. A movie worth it's weight in Gold.

A MUST SEE!!!!

The Text is nothing short of extrodinary. A MUST SEE for all drivers of any age who own a cellphone. Texting while driving is such a dangerous act and one that changes the lives of everyone involved forever. Masterfully written and a talented cast which shows every viewer a powerful message. This film should be in every driving education course in every State. People no longer care about others while on the road, but this film proves that wrong.

Some scenes are so powerful it leaves the watcher wanting more. This is the third film we have seen from this Director and it couldn't be any better. Run, don't walk to get this film into your library!!!!

The acting was amazing, the editing and directing was very well done, and everything seemed so professional. This film is going to continue to impact so many people.

Viewers will be able to see themselves in the storyline, and they'll be hooked to see what happens.

THEY SAVED THEIR BEST FOR LAST!

Dreams Come True Films definitely hits a home run with their latest film. The Text has so much to offer. Whether it is the subject of texting and driving or forgiveness this movie will have you thinking long after it's over.

The acting of Karla Dansereau & Sharon Nelson is outstanding and I definitely see them having solid film career for years to come as they are both extremely talented.

You will definitely need a box of tissues when you watch this movie as it will definitely stir your emotions.

One of the things I love most about Candy's screenwriting is that there is always a great surprise waiting at the end of the movie.... You just never see it coming. I love movies that are NOT predictable and that is what she delivers!

I am sad at the thought that Candy and Daniel have retired from filmmaking because they make an absolutely incredible team. Who says you can't work with family? I know I'm not the only one to feel this way, but the world needs more films like theirs. But all good things must come to an end, unfortunately.

Fun fact: The Text has won multiple awards, including Best Drama, Best Producer, Best Message, Best Cinematography and the list goes on and on. Check out their Facebook page for more info. I am not a bit surprised that they have won as many as they have. This film is at the top of my list of favorite films of all time!

Grab your teenagers and your popcorn!!!

The Text is a powerful story of the ramifications of texting while driving. A decision that a young man made only taking a couple seconds to act upon followed by years of dealing with the fallout of his decision. You will watch the hard realities of such a decision and how it affected the lives of his family and friends. Each person had a different journey yet all of them had to deal with pain, tragedy, loss of dreams and broken relationships. As the years pass you will see God work and how the power of forgiveness opens the doors for hope. The Text should be a must see in all Drivers Education classes and for parents to share with their kids as it's a great springboard for conversation.

Beautiful Film

I was honored to be a part of this beautiful film with a powerful message. The film keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time! It's filled with twists and turns that are surprising and intriguing. The characters portrayed in the film are beautifully portrayed and drive the relationships in the film.

The themes include texting and driving, family, friendship, faith, forgiveness, and hope. I've not seen a film that highlights the consequences of texting and driving the way that "The Text" does. I highly recommend this film to families of teenagers who are getting ready to drive as a way to start an open, honest conversation around the dangers of texting and driving. Powerful, dynamic and moving!

Beautiful film

The Text should be shown in all schools as a reminder of what consequences that actions can have. This film was beautifully written and easy to get into the story. It is also very relatable especially if you have children or have had similar things happen in your family. The cast was amazing and editing are amazing. You forget that you are watching an independent film instead of a studio production. The message is strong and is sure to leave you wanting to watch this film again. If you know of anyone learning to drive or have kids, be sure they watch this film and take some lessons from it's message.

Excellent Movie

"The Text" is a movie with heart, and a message that is extremely pertinent in today's world. It's not often that a movie can so well walk the line between informing and entertaining, but this movie does it in excellent fashion. It was extremely well made and was beautifully filmed.

Texting and driving has become a huge problem in todays world, and this movie takes on that issue full force, and head on. It pulls at the heart strings and plants its message deep in the psyche. Hopefully it will be seen by many different viewers.

This film should be shown to all high school students to inform them of the dangers of texting and driving. Be sure to share it with those you love. It just might save a life.

The Text

The Text is a great family film. From the beginning of the movie , it kept your attention. All the characters were great and it had a great story.

If people would be more interested in the family and less time on their phones. I personally have seen so many close calls on accidents. People run red lights and just don't watch for motorcycles .

I love that through this movie GOD was the center of the storyline. It definitely should be shown in movie theaters.

I believe that it should be shown for high school audiences or church youth groups. I got the chance to purchase a copy of The Text and glad to have it in my personal library of movies.

I love Dreams Comes True Films I have several other movies that they have made.

A terrific film

I truly enjoyed watching "The Text ". It was a funny, heartfelt, sad, and happy film all wrapped into one. The main story line involving texting and driving also weaved in other secondary stories which all portrayed pain, yet beautiful pictures of forgiveness and redemption. Each character was well cast and relatable. While watching the film, I felt as though all the characters were personally familiar! And the message of being addicted to phones and how it affects relationships caused me to evaluate my own phone usage! Thankful to my friend for sharing "The Text" with me!

I highly recommend this film.

No texting and driving after this movie

This movie is very educational on multiple levels, appealing to multiple cultures and age groups. Anyone with a cellphone can relate to the message this movie sends-the consequences of texting and driving.

Educational, emotional, and eloquently written, this Christian film is a must see for teens and up. The scenes are all incredibly realistic, allowing the viewer to fully immerse themselves into the movie, consequently developing empathy for the actors. Th quality of this film is beyond what I anticipated, and was pleasantly surprised at how well the production was executed. You don't want to miss this incredibly influential film.

A well-made indie film on a must see subject

So many times you expect indie films to be somewhat lacking in the acting & production value, but this is not the case with this film. Not only is this a relevant topic in today's phone zombie society, but it was very well made. The cinematography is very professional & the script was well written. I had the opportunity to see this film twice & it was even better the second time around. You won't be disappointed. It's a must see film for everyone.

My favorite part was when a certain someone returns home. Another fun segment was the "dream sequence" that you don't realize is a dream until it's over. Fun twist. And the neighbor mom was an amazing actress...very believable. You'll just have to watch to see what I mean. Well done, gang!

Wonderful film!

THE TEXT by Dreams Come True Films, is one that will inspire, invoke raw emotions, and create a unique decision of anyone who has had the unfortunate experience to witness first-hand loss of a loved one due to a text written while a person driving caused an accident. The actors in this film express the heartache, and the need for forgiveness to go forward with their lives after a terrible accident.

All student drivers, and their parents would benefit by watching this film together and discuss the horrible things that can happen when a text is written in the wrong moment. A must see by all who drive!!

This is a film that could be shown to any group who can relate to instilling forgiveness for any wrongdoing done to them or others, in a church or school setting. This faith-based film is just one of those written and produced by Candy Beard and the exceptional cast and crew she puts together, can be enjoyed as a learning tool for high school students learning to drive and how their actions can change lives in an instant.

The cinematography is up close and personal, the music, by award-winning composer, is mesmerizing, the writing--exceptional, and the acting is so real and believable.

Amazingly done on a shoestring budget, lessons learned cannot be measured by the amount spent on spreading the importance of one's actions. Kudos to all involved!
