Disappointed for a Taiwanese(?) Production...

Could've and should've been better... HBO-Asia which green-lighted this production could've invested in much more noteworthy projects than this! Maybe they got what they paid for?! Poor script with the typical Asian melodramas and subplot lines, cringey acting, and awfully cheap sets and CGI.

Bad Fringe

This series is a bad covert remake of the characters and early plots of Fringe. That´s all it is.

Watch the first season of Fringe and you´ll see this is a bad copy.

love the concept

An intriguing Sci-Fi series, came across this by chance and it did not bore me. This review is only for the First Episode though, I will surely update it as the series progresses.

Terrible, terrible voice over or dubbing!

I'm sure this is likely a good movie if you understand the native language. However, I do not so I can either read subtitles, which is annoying to do since it distracts from what is going on in the scene. But why oh, why did I turn on the English voice over?!?! Who in their right mind thought that ONE person not only is the voice for every character, including women characters, but then the voice narrates the entire actions and what's going on when there isn't dialogue. I'm so annoyed by this. Why invest in such a decent looking series when paid some AI bot to read the script and narrations. Invest in real voice actors to dub the series for God's sake! If HBO Max wast free for me, I'd cancel it just to prove a point on how ridiculous this is. Lol.

Great concept, a decent execution

When you hear of the idea, it's intriguing and the initial episodes certainly live up to those expectations. However, perhaps the makers could not get over the local tropes of drama making which may, somehow, mellow down the execution particularly for the international viewers. Nevertheless, the series kept me thoroughly engaged throughout, despite it's flaws and a rather melodramatic ending.

Best SF series I've watched this year

For those who are familiar with the concept of Akashic records, the "Abyss of the Consciousness" a lot of sense. The Akashic Records are records of every soul's journey, from the time it first individuates from Source until it finally returns home-a journey that can take millennia. No matter how new or ancient a soul you are, your Akashic Record holds all your thoughts, feelings, actions, and deeds from each lifetime. It is believed that natural quartz crystals help you access this library of all consciousnesses, past, present and future.

This metaphysical concept is explored in the TV series in a simplified approach, to make the narrative thread easier to follow. It is embedded with another topic: the search of immortality.

There is no connection with Fringe, as some users suggested. Fringe is about parallel universes, while Dream Raiders is more about the expansion of consciousness beyond the limits of matter.
