Especial de Natal: Se Beber, Não Ceie

Extremely snappy (you've got to be quick with the subtitles), almost constantly hilarious and wonderfully irreverent satire on the last supper. It's forty-four minutes long and I don't want to spoil any of the gags by describing them, but there are plenty of individual set-pieces, such as the contest between Jesus and a conjuror and the commemorative painting; and running gags such as the tiger in the toilet and the James that no one likes.

Its a very funny movie and you just have to read the title to know what to expect if you are senstive to religious jokes just dont watch it... but if you dont care watch youll have a good time!

The film takes place the morning after the Last Supper, and flashes back to the night before. I thought they spent the right amount of time between both without being confusing or gratuitous. The story flowed, things pieced together logically, and more than a dozen characters were portrayed as real people and developed pretty well in such a short amount of time -- I was genuinely surprised that 40 minutes had passed the first time I watched it. The humor ranges from juvenile to raunchy to highbrow, and you'll probably catch more jokes if you've seen "The Hangover" or you're already familiar with Porta dos Fundos. Heads up to those who aren't fluent in Portuguese or don't like subtitles, because the dialogue does go pretty fast sometimes.

If you aren't offended by Gore Vidal or movies like "Life of Brian" or "Dogma," you'll likely be entertained with one viewing. But it also has details to find with multiple viewings for people who like that kind of thing, and subtext to discuss, such as literally taking someone's word as gospel (and not just the bit with Diego). I thought Jesus was a bit more of a jerk than necessary, but overall I've enjoyed it enough to have watched it more than once.

This movie is so funny, the jokes are fast and quick and plentiful and wrong and very 'unPC'. My only "complaint" is that this Brazilian Portuguese is so fast (and I consider myself a fast reader) but for some reason, I spent more time reading than looking at the picture, but even with that, I still loved it. I wished it was longer. So funny.

What if The Last Supper went in a different way than what people actually know about according to what's written in the bible? That's basically the premise of this comedy film. An entertaining take of the biblical version on what happens during the last day of Christ with his disciples, this story is simply a fun watch with an even funnier conclusion.

If you don't mind a little dark humor parody, then go see this film.
