I Need Season Two, We Need Season Two

A Need Season Two, We Need Season Two This series is exceptional. I cannot believe that Netflix decided to cancel it early and leave the ending open. What is this?

Why?

It figures Netflix won't bring this back. They have to make room for the garbage shows.

YET ANOTHER GREAT SERIES Netflix decided to Chuck in the Crapper! :(

WhY??????? :O What is Wrong with YOU PEOPLE???? SERIOUSLY????

They constantly cancel the series that are well acted and interesting in their 1st or 2nd season. And we Had Kardashians, Duggars, Bachelorettes and Bachelors Out the WaZOO! YUCK!

If I wanna watch Fiction, I prefer a show Like this and this young actress is Bloody Amazing!!

So sick of GREEDY, FAKE LIARS getting rich and these wonderful young actors getting fired when a series is dropped that had great potential to entertain us and teach us better manners and kindness. Compared to UgHHH Reality??? LOL TV TRASH!

No wonder the World Sucks So Much and Keeps Sucking More these Past 20 years! Thanks for NOTHING ! NOThING GOOD anyway! ANd Just so you know, I TOO Am NOT ok With This!! :O.

Would have been interesting to see where this was going, now, we will never know.

Another Show with lots of promise that has been cancelled. Lets hope someone else picks it up, there was a lot of room for an excellent second and third season.

A cancel decision that I cannot understand.

"I am Not okay with This" shows how a young girl struggles with her newfound superpowers in addition to her emotional crisis.

Sophia Lillis plays this role very convincingly and that is complemented by the equally good acting of the supporting characters.

The series makes the whole thing very exciting, only to leave the viewer in the rain with a huge cliffhanger at the end, as the series is unfortunately another victim of Netflix's "cancel fetish".

There is not much to unpack about this series, so I am only typing this bit to meet the required 600 characters.

Thanks for reading.

Too bad actually...

Mix of Carrie, Breakfast Club and superhero stories

Great show for someone who has grown up with Stephen King stories, Carrie and Breakfast Club. Building up the characters takes time, and I see that some other viewers think it is too slow - but I like the story been build up from layer to layer. Nice start for an interesting story... And great work from young stars!

I Am Not Okay With the Cancellation

This series from the Forsman universe is similarly atmospheric in structure to "The End of the F***ing World," but the plot is more one that moves into the fantastical alongside everyday teen problems and evolves into a strange but interestingly unconventional origin story of a superhero, or supervillain. The story is exciting, exceptionally well conceived, and at the same time full of landmarks in genre classics, such as Stephen King's "Carrie." Every now and then, subplots get a bit lost in "Twitter discourse", which, as we all know, is rather the opposite of discourse; a condition that unfortunately weakens the overall picture a bit. Sophia Lillie's portrayal of the main character bears the same ambivalent relationship, which she hits well time and again, only to drift too much into facial spectacles she's familiar with, which are apparently meant to appear bubbly and freaky in a very stereotypical way. The supporting characters do a better job. Oleff and Bryant don't perform at a consistently high level here either, but seem to be able to interpret their roles better in their quieter ways, giving the viewer a more sympathetic, approachable picture of the characters.

The series is fun, has beautiful settings, interesting characters and a fitting atmosphere. However, it also has acting weaknesses, shortcomings in its adherence to the important themes and a slight overrepresentation of clichés. Still, it was more promising than disappointing. The positives outweighed the negatives.

Unfortunately, the series has been discontinued by Netflix and the reasons given seem like excuses. It is well known that Netflix earns money mainly from new series productions and not by keeping good, established series alive, because the streaming service doesn't get anyone to sign a contract with new seasons. So the cliffhanger of the last episode remains unresolved and the potential of the series doesn't get a chance to unfold. Simply a pity.

gone too soon

Awkward small town girl Sydney Novak (Sophia Lillis) has her only friend Dina (Sofia Bryant), her little brother Liam, and her mother Maggie (Kathleen Rose Perkins). Her father committed suicide. Weird neighbor Stanley Barber (Wyatt Oleff) has a crush on her. Dina starts going out with the arrogant quarterback. Sydney has emotional issues, sexuality issues, and worst of all, she's developing superpowers.

This is a Netflix show with only one season. It got renewed for a second season but then canceled due to the pandemic. Lillis and Oleff reunite after It. Lillis is brilliant as the awkward teen. I love the Carrie motif. It's based on a comic book written by Charles Forsman who also wrote "The End of the F***ing World". Both shows have similar aesthetics. I love both shows. It's a real shame that this got taken down by the virus.

the final of the last episode just felt like the start of the whole series

Am I the only one who felt that way?

Don't get me wrong. This series is really entertaining and witty. But it just felt like the intro to the story itself.

Binge watching is done easily and quickly with seven 22 minutes episodes on average which just felt like 3 at the most or a 153 minutes movie.

At the end i just asked myself, why they didn't go on so that the story gets told?! Couldn't they finish in time?!

That's the only reason, i just gave it 7 stars. Now we have to wait at least for a year for the continuation.

Everything else was really good.

Hmm..Why??

Well they cancel the show and I am not ok with this. I love this show even with somethings that I would like to be changed, they cancel the show and it's not nice so much pontetional there for season 2 with nice characters and nice plot. The only reason that I am rating this 07/10 it's because it got canceled and we didn't have the opportunity to develop the characters and the whole series to something good. Please bring it back

Very meh

I am super confused as to how this is getting such great reviews. The series felt like a brief overview of a story. A cliff notes. The in between of a movie and a TV series-too short for the in-depth look you'd expect from a series and too long to be considered a movie. Just felt like they didn't really try.

Ill-fated series

This was a quirky little show. 7 half hour episodes?! And then, after announcing a second season, Netflix cancelled it. It's a bit of a sham, it had a talented young cast, an unusual premise alongside a coming of age vibe and I rather enjoyed it and would have watched another season. I give this ill-fated series a 7 (quirky) out of 10. {Mild Horror Vibe}

there is more than one breakout performance here

And the writing is so sharp you could get paper cuts from just watching. One of the best of the season.

A bit predictable, but still good enough superpower origin story

I Am Not Okay With This is in similar lines of The End Of The Fucking World, but with some superpowers and twists Sophia Lillis was good as the lead and this story just got started with it's final episode

Although the story could have been more strong just like the cast and the act of Sophia, I believe it might improve further it's credibility and story telling

I would rate 7/10 for this twisted superpower Netflix Original Series

Netflix screwed up again

Just finished watching this season again. Netflix really screwed the pooch by canceling this series. Like fox used to do. They cancel all the good things and keep the crap.

Please make more of this show! You can save the money on you waste giving every Tom dick and harry a Netflix special and invest in quality programming such as this.

Like Seinfeld sometimes you need to make A few seasons to convince people it's quality. Us early adopters recognize this right away however sometimes it takes the masses a little bit of time.

Thank you Mr Entwhistle. Thank you for some great writing, directing and some really creative filmmaking! .

Im Okay with This

For someone who has seen The End of the F***ing World and Stranger Things this is not new. Nor better. If it wasn't from the same producers I would say is a rip-off. The plot is not original/new, the storytelling likewise and even the characters development is the same so it loses a lot of points as a great tv series. Having said that, I enjoyed it. Although not original it entertains, I like the characters and how they relate and interact with each other. I particularly enjoyed the last scene because it opens up a million possibilities for seasons ahead that may, in my opinion, make this tv show better and more appealing.

Fun and indie coming of age/thriller?

Just a good adapted, modern and indie version of Carrie. Fun to watch and as always for Jonathan Entwistle, aesthetically pleasing in terms of cinematography and choices of music. The end is like the opening for the whole new universe, which is interesting I guess. Looking forward to binge the next season!

I'm stll completely shocked of what happened in the last episode. I won't tell, y'all have to find out for yourselves.

Its a great show. Can't wait for more seasons.

This has been done before . . . and better!

This series is a pretty typical adaption of a comic book teen coming of age comedy. It doesn't have a real hook and the use of the protagonist talking to herself is poorly done. The dialogue, the little that there is, has been done many times before. The angst is predictable and common. So the only thing new is the new superpowers Sydney has. Even that has been done before. There are many better adaptions done better. This one has nothing really new to offer.

This is spectacular

Absolutely love the soundtrack, cinematography, boiling telekinesis, and the enthusiasm! I love how some say we need season 2 that would be great but I don't think it's happening. I can't believe I didn't watch sooner I Am Not Okay with This is magnificent! Such a lovely show even with a few hours sleep.
