The dramedy series was set on Wisteria Lane, a street in the fictional town of Fairview in the fictional Eagle State. Desperate Housewives followed the lives of four women, covering their lives across fifteen years. Deadline reveals that the new offshoot series will be titled Wisteria Lane, and will welcome new residents on the same street.

The new spin-off series is a reimagining of the ABC hit, and is in development at Onyx Collective. The upcoming Wisteria Lane comes from Scandal's Kerry Washington's Simpson Street, and 20th Television. Directed by Olivier Megaton and written by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, Transporter 3 finds Statham’s expert driver and courier paired with Valentina (Natalya Rudakova), the cynical daughter of a Ukrainian official. The Beekeeper star Jason Statham continues to fly the flag for wonderfully no-nonsense action movie fare, and his next movie, the Jean-François Richet directed Mutiny, has now been given a release date. Sadly, it’s going to be a little while before we catch The Stath’s next violent vendetta.

As per a report by Deadline, Mutiny will land in theaters next year on January 9, 2026, with Lionsgate putting Statham’s latest action thriller up against Universal’s M3GAN spin-off Soulm8te, which releases the week before on January 2. Other than that, the path is clear for Mutiny to make a killing at the box office on its opening weekend.

Tomorrow Studios, Deadline notes, will be shopping the series to other platforms. In other words, “Let the Right One In” could eventually come back to life on another platform.

Deadline adds to the story, “Paramount Global just announced that Showtime will be integrated into Paramount+ across both streaming and linear later this year.”

“Let the Right One In” is a victim of this impending merger, the site notes.

Forestieri created and executive produced the HBO Max series Gordita Chronicles, produced by Zoe Saldana, Cisely Saldana, and Mariel Saldana under their Cinestar banner, and directed and executive produced by Eva Longoria.

The comedy series, based on Forestieri’s childhood experiences, is about family, opportunity, love, resilience, and boldly defying the status quo in pursuit of the “American Dream.”

Deadline reports that a series based on Don Winslow's super-popular "Cartel Trilogy" is in the works at FX with a pilot deal. The 720-page tome "The Border" is actually the third book in the pulpy, epic crime novel series, following "The Cartel" and "The Power of the Dog".

Winslow's trilogy concluded with "The Border" in 2019, and it was only a matter of time before the story about the failed war on drugs made it to the small screen. FX has given a pilot order to The Border, a drama based on the third book in Don Winslow’s bestselling Cartel Trilogy, from Daniel Zelman,, Shane Salerno is set to lead the cast, which also includes Frank Blake, Annie Shapero (Red Skies), Sebastián Buitrón and Luis Bordonada. Produced by FX Productions, the pilot will begin production in Mexico in 2023.

Zelman will write and serve as showrunner and executive producer along with Salerno, who adapted The Border for television with Zelman, Winslow, Diego Gutierrez, Jayro Bustamante, who will direct the pilot, and Scott Free. Anabel Hernández will serve as Consulting Producer.

The Border is an epic saga that reveals the dark truths about America’s failed 50-year war on drugs.

Boxing great Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez is teaming with Cartuna and Campanario Entertainment to develop an adult animated series inspired by his life and career, Variety has learned exclusively.

Some of the honorees that received the accolade included the animated film Encanto for Best Feature Film, Love, Victor as Best Comedy Primetime Program and Selena: The Series for Best Drama Primetime Program.

Disney’s Encanto and Hulu’s Love, Victor were the big winners at the 2022 Imagen Awards, held Sunday at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes in downtown Los Angeles.

Encanto was named best feature film and Love, Victor was a repeat winner for best primetime comedy at the 37th annual awards, which were established in 1985 from a suggestion by veteran television producer Norman Lear to encourage and recognize positive portrayals of Latinos in the media. Today, The Imagen Foundation aims to serve as a bridge between the Latino community and the entertainment industry in providing access, education, and resources for Latinos in the industry, as well as those seeking careers in entertainment.

The Imagen Awards were handed out Sunday at an afternoon gala, which marked the in-person return of the ceremony after a two-year live hiatus due to the pandemic.

Christian Serratos has been cast in the lead role of the HBO Max drama pilot “More,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The project was originally ordered to pilot at HBO Max in September 2020. Serratos joins previously announced cast members Veronica Falcón, Yvette Monreal, Georgie Flores, and Ceci Fernandez. The show is inspired by the reporting of journalist Amy Chozick.

General Hospital actress Lindsey Pearlman’s cause of death has been revealed nearly six months after she was found dead in Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, Pearlman died by suicide from sodium nitrite toxicity. The case was closed Aug. 1, the coroner’s office tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Pearlman, 43, had recurring roles on General Hospital and Chicago Justice and was found dead inside of a vehicle Feb. 18. She was previously reported missing after she was seen Feb. 13 in Hollywood, the Los Angeles Police Department told THR at the time.

Pearlman grew up in Chicago and studied comedy at The Second City Conservatory before participating in touring shows, according to a bio on her personal website. She moved to Los Angeles after booking her recurring role on NBC’s Chicago Justice.

West Side Story, Encanto and In the Heights are among the nominations for the 37th annual Imagen Awards, which recognize work by Latino talent, new faces and seasoned creatives.

“After two years of streaming celebrations, we are ecstatic to be back in person and to honor those who made significant contributions to the television, film and streaming spaces,” What We Do in the Shadows star Harvey Guillén, who presented the nominees, said. “With the caliber of talent and the diversity of the roles and projects, our expectations were wildly exceeded with 445 entries, up 125 from 2021! We are beyond proud of this year’s nominees and all those who submitted. Given the excellence of the entries, the judges had a difficult time selecting those to be nominated.”

Nominees are determined by an independent panel of entertainment industry and Latino community leaders.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has confirmed the cause of death of actress Lindsey Pearlman.

The news comes six months after the Empire star was found dead inside a vehicle near Runyon Canyon Park.

According to a report obtained by People, the coroner has ruled Pearlman's death as a suicide caused by sodium nitrite toxicity.

Pearlman went missing on February 13 and was last seen in Los Angeles around 9 p.m, according to reports.

The star is said to have swallowed enough pills after driving to the base of Runyon Canyon and was found days later by a hiker.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported the sad news of the star's passing in February.

"Today around 8:30 a.m., Hollywood Area officers responded to a radio call for a death investigation at Franklin Avenue and North Sierra Bonita Avenue," the LAPD said in the statement.

Exclusive: Claudia Forestieri, creator and executive producer of Gordita Chronicles, has signed an overall deal with the studio behind the freshman HBO Max comedy series, Sony Pictures Television.

Under the pact, Forestieri’s first overall agreement, she will be developing scripted series across cable and streaming in both comedy and drama under her newly launched Mamalu Productions banner.

Forestieri wrote the pilot for Gordita Chronicles and serves as an executive producer on the period comedy, which debuted June 23 to strong reviews. Fellow Gordita Chronicles executive producers Brigitte Munoz-Liebowitz, who serves as showrunner, and Josh Berman, also are under overall deals at Sony Pictures TV.

The topic of creators getting a share of what they create was front and center Friday at Comic-Con during a panel titled “The Importance of Comic Creators Owning Their Own IP.”

The topic is very current, as earlier in the week The Hollywood Reporter exposed the very lopsided contracts writers and artists face when seeing the characters they create end up on screen.
