It has been more than 20 years since Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie’s The Simple Life premiered. The reality series followed the wealthy socialites as they struggled to do manual, low-paying jobs such as cleaning rooms, farm work, serving meals in fast-food restaurants, and working as camp counselors.

Roadside Attractions has snagged U.S. rights to the comedy Summer Camp, starring Diane Keaton (Annie Hall), Kathy Bates (Richard Jewell) and Alfre Woodard (12 Years a Slave), on which we were first to report. Written and directed by Castille Landon (Perfect Addiction), the film is slated for release in theaters on May 31.
Summer Camp tells the story of Nora (Keaton), Ginny (Bates), and Mary (Woodard), who have been best friends since being inseparable at summer camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but one thing is for sure — Nora, Ginny, and Mary need each other, and summer camp reminds them why.

Director Bryce McGuire drew inspiration from his childhood fear of swimming pools for the horror film Night Swim. Night Swim follows the Waller family as they discover their haunted swimming pool and the demonic entity lurking within. The film will have to rely on an unsettling atmosphere and creepy visuals rather than blood and gore to create terror.
Night Swim director Bryce McGuire has revealed his childhood inspiration for the upcoming horror film about a haunted pool. The movie is based on the director's 2014 short film of the same name, which depicted the same concept in a terrifying 4-minute video. Now, Blumhouse has helped turn the short into a feature film expanding on the original's premise.

How groovy is the tagline for season two of Minx: “Getting bigger, going harder.” The show delivers on that front, and then some. Between the addition of Elizabeth Perkins (The Afterparty) as a wealthy investor and several effective story arcs about sex, sexuality, power plays, feminism, and schlong tennis — you just have to watch for yourself — Minx is as creatively fertile as ever. Thanks to Starz.
The fetching series was dropped by HBO after already being picked up for a second season by the cable powerhouse, a move that star Jake Johnson recently called “f***king gross.” Thankfully, Starz scooped up the inventive 1970s comedy about an earnest feminist, Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond of Guardians of the Galaxy), who joins forces with a shady publisher, Doug (played by Johnson) to give birth to the first erotic magazine for women.

The Future Of Music Interview is a Q&a in which our favorite artists and producers share their vision of what’s next, weighing in on everything from AI to emerging scenes to the artists inspiring them the most.
Meg Remy has been imagining radical new futures in her music for more than a decade, first on noisy, arty releases like 2011’s U.S. Girls on Kraak, and later on subtly subversive pop dreams like 2018’s In a Poem Unlimited and this year’s Bless This Mess. But the artist behind U.

Minx is thriving under Joyce's (Ophelia Lovibond) leadership, and we can't wait to see what's on tap for everyone.
Starz went public with the trailer for Minx Season 2 on Wednesday, and it shows the magazine reaching dizzying heights.
There's even a perfectly timed bit of dialogue from Jake Johnson's Doug at the beginning:
"A lot of people counted us out. But we are back and better than ever!"
Many did count the show out after HBO Max canceled Minx after one season.
We have Starz to thank for picking up Minx Season 2 because this show is a true gem, and the story deserves to be told.
It's a rarity to have such a refreshing show on the air, and thankfully, we'll have fresh episodes when Minx Season 2 debuts Friday, July 21.
The trailer promises to up the ante both on the show and for the magazine.

It's hard to believe that Minx Season 2 will finally see the light of day this summer.
After HBO Max canceled the comedy, it seemed there was no way forward.
Thankfully, Starz stepped in to save the day to give fans the second season.
The premium cabler confirmed today that Minx Season 2 will premiere on Friday, July 21, at midnight on the Starz app and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.
On linear, it will debut on Starz at 9 Pm Et/Pt in the U.S. and Canada.
The first season is also available to stream on the Starz app.
Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Minx centers around Joyce (Ophelia Lovibond), an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Jake Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women.
On Minx Season 2, Doug and Joyce grapple with Minx's explosive success, which brings more money, fame and temptation than either...

Exclusive: Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation), Dennis Haysbert (Far from Heaven), Nicole Richie (Bless This Mess) and Josh Peck (How I Met Your Father) are among the newest additions to the indie comedy Summer Camp from writer-director Castille Landon (After franchise).
Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard and Eugene Levy will lead the ensemble, as previously announced, with Betsy Sodaro (Ghosts) and Tom Wright (Daisy Jones & The Six) rounding it out.
The film heading into production next month in North Carolina tells the story of Nora, Ginny and Mary, who have been best friends since childhood, spending their summers together inseparably at sleepaway camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others, excitedly. Each of their lives might not be where they’d imagined, but...

The “A League of Their Own” actress will play series regular Marianne, the loving and warm mother of Julia (Ellie Kemper), herself a working mother who struggles to balance parenting with her career. Would you believe us if we said a hologram sponsored by the government of Ontario was one of the best things we saw on the second full day of SXSW 2023? There were plenty of flesh-and-blood performances that knocked our socks off, too, as the festival hit its stride with artists big and small from across genres and decades packing the venues that make Austin one of the greatest music cities in the world. Here are our top picks from Wednesday, March 15.

Blessings are imminent, because U.S. Girls — the indie pop project of Meg Remy — return today, February 24th with the new album Bless This Mess. It’s out via 4Ad.
Turns out, while Remy was working on the follow-up to U.S. Girls’ great 2020 album Heavy Light, she was also working on something else: Twin baby boys. With a title that seems to poke fun at maternally-targeted, mass-produced Hobby Lobby wall decor, Bless This Mess captures the extremes of Remy’s emotions as a first-time mom and the nuances of procreation.
The album was made with the help of a few notable guests, including Alex Frankel of Holy Ghost! and Roger Manning Jr. of Jellyfish and Beck. One of the album’s audio engineers was Remy’s frequent collaborator Maximilian Turnbull, who just so happens to also be her husband and co-parent. Many of the takes were recorded while Remy...
