Bloody Little Aussie Gem

Sacrifice is a beautifully crafted and evocative short movie. It encapsulates the moving story of a same sex couple one of whom is serving in the military and about to leave for a tour of duty.

Impressive performance

I'm not exactly into films like this but this was totally worth watching. Great acting and careful editing to make this a really powerful film. The chemistry between Blake and James really sold the story. Both Leigh Smith and Jesse Everett were convincing and drew me in emotionally. So glad I ended up watching this, I recommended this to my friends and family and they enjoyed it too!

Unbelievable - AFTER FILM REVIEW

Now... I've got an eye for detail, though I will give my honesty... But... WOAH

I'm so so shocked.... The intensity of this film, the craftsmanship, the romance; it's just so perfect. It's like a perfect red velvet cake, beautiful on the exterior and suspenseful/emotional on the interior haha. The twists and turns that this short film has is unreal. Yes some viewers may assumed the ending coming, but that is what the film is all about. To sacrifice the hope and dreams for someone you love (James accepting the circumstances within Blake).

Not only is the creation of the film alluring, the articulation of the precision between time and symbolism is phenomenal. The simple details of the photographic images throughout simply show how simple yet equal their love story is. The onset backgrounds, perfectly inSync with key words and facial display... it's an extremely well done master piece.

The casting was pulchritudinous!!! The connection the characters/actors have onset/offset played a mammoth of an impact within this piece as the chemistry and wellness of performance was clearly displayed throughout. No stiffness. No forceful action. It was all very smooth and very entertaining to watch. So natural I forgot it was a film! Haha

The extra touches of music, colour saturations displaying sadness/thirst for love/company within isolation was phenomenal. The beautiful melodies that were original and diverting were so engaging and suitably put together. You can tell that a great amount of effort was put and it is truly well thought out! I'm so proud of this piece!!

Ps - this is the type of film that young generations need. This is the education religious cultures need. I'm a strict Iraqi/Russian Catholic and I fully support this film with all my heart. Love is truly love. There is no greater power than love and no other innocence, no matter the gender. This film should be shared not only for entertainment, but for the development of key knowledge and education of the young.

Oh my gosh!

I just came across this wonderful film today in a short film collection I had purchased a couple of years ago. Absolutely stunning, moving, and beautifully acted. I did not know anything about this film before I watched it, but generally I am a big fan of Australian movies. This one did not disappoint. I am usually not one to cry during, or even be especially moved by, most films, but this was really an exception for me. Fortunately I have this on my hard drive, and definitely plan to watch it again.

Not sure what more I can say about this film - just watch it if you get the chance. You will not be disappointed! If I could give it more than 10 stars I would!

Just wow

This title really says it all - Sacrifice. I don't really write many reviews on here but after watching this I felt like i needed to write one. Great directing and acting, especially the chemistry between the leads Leigh Smith and Jesse Everett. The connection they built and the loved they showed was spectacular and helped take the film to the next level. I highly recommend this.

Well done

I am blown away. I would give anything to change the ending. Blake and James are the ultimate goal of a true and honest love story. The actors are nothing short of superb in creating something real and true. Everett and Smith meld together in perfect unison. This is not your average short film. It is in a league of its own. Well Done!

An original

Strong performances by both the actors. What I really liked about the plot was that rather then just two soliders in love as you would usually see this is more of a unique love story between a solider and civilian. I felt the emotions right to the end!

Great ending

This is an impressive short indie film. Goes to show you don't need a big budget to make a big impact. Leigh Smith is a talented actor and the emotions he displayed was convincing and really drew me in. That ending with the letter had me a little emotional. In all it's a deep short film, give it a go!

Love is the greatest sacrifice

Such a deep and complex short film. Great acting and the plot and actors showed some real emotions that made this a real gem to watch. This could be made into a feature film honestly.. perhaps in the future? Anyway this is easily a 10. A must watch.

Poetic

I do hope this film gets the recognition it deserves. I love the fact that there is a bigger, wider story to be told about the two characters James and Blake. The film opens up really well and grows into something big towards the end. I would watch this again.

essence of love

The beautiful virtue - the predactiblity. You know, you feel it.

The second good point - the acting.

Not the last, the message , simple, direct, minimalistic crafted, defining the duty, the love, the choice and the expectation. It is important the final impression - Sacrifice is little more than a homosexual short film, but a lovely- touching- profound inspired definition of the intense affection for beloved one, army and the bad news who can not be accepted.

The freshness of story and performances, this makes real special this short film who, in simple terms, says exactly the universal fears , feelings animating many from us.

So, normal gratitude.
