Now before I review this, I would like to say that it is great that my home city, Dayton, OH is finally getting recognition as a potential location for the filming industry. To start off, I have to admit that the movie started off strong, but its story became a mess over time. The audio was also so low quality, you could barely hear the actors speak on screen. We were introduced to characters we did not care about, because the writer did not take the time to flush them out. Who are they? What is their purpose other than to crack lame jokes and shoot bad CGI bullets at people?

And the CGI gunshots were just horrible. The movie was in serious need of a special effects team. The acting was sort of good, but it became wooden and goofy over time as well. This whole film felt like a bootleg movie of Shottas mixed with Power. It deserves better.

Glad I didn't buy this film and waited till it was free to watch instead. Bad story. Feels like a knockoff of a similar, but better movie that I can't name

Watched the first 5 minutes and then watched the Weather Channel! Watching paint dry would've been better! I wish I could've given it no stars!!!

Pros: Better than expected first film Very entertaining Great storyline Easy to follow Real life/ relatable situations

Cons: Sound was off on some parts A couple scenes were pointless to rest of the movie

Overall I enjoyed the movie and had fun opening day downtown. I've watched it a couple times now and have enjoyed watching the progress over the last 1.5 years.

Jason Hampton has added to Dayton's proud legacy with his movie, Got My Hustle Up! Dayton is known for funky music. So many groups came from this area; Lakeside, Heatwave, Zapp featuring Roger, Ohio Players, Shirley Murdock, Slave and many others. Now we have the amazing Jason Hampton. His movie will make you laugh and cry. Who hasn't had their back against the wall and their privates in the dusk? Who hasn't wanted something out of life but had a hard time getting it? Who hasn't been betrayed or taken advantage of? This movie has all of that and much more. There's some amazing footage of Dayton Ohio. It's a great independent movie. I saw the movie twice and will see it again. This says a lot coming from me, the ultimate movie and music buff. Check it out, You will enjoy it. A good laugh is healing for soul.

This movie has everything you could want. Action, comedy, and romance. And I loved all of the love it showed for Dayton, OH. Definitely a must see! So get your Hustle Up and go see it.

This was a really good movie .. It was low budget, the acting wasn't all that, but the storyline was amazing. I rated it a 9 instead of a 10 bc of the low budgetness..

I loved this movie from start to finish. The directing, acting, and cast were all amazing. GMHU is a movie you can watch again and again definitely one of my favorites.
