Netflix's New Buddy Cop Movie With Bad Boys Vibes Instantly Becomes Global Hit
Image
A new buddy comedy movie from Netflix, drawing parallels to Bad Boys, has instantly become a global hit. The popular franchise, featuring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith as Miami detectives, continues to be a commercial success and is largely well-received by audiences. Bad Boys: Ride or Die premiered last year and generated over $400 million before releasing on Netflix, where it managed to chart at number one.

The streaming service also houses many more high-performing action comedy films, including Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F and The Union. Back in Action, starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx, was another major hit upon release. The streaming movie boasted impressive viewership numbers and quickly climbed the Netflix charts, despite poor audience reception.

Almost Cops Is An Instant Success The Buddy Comedy Is Charting On Netflix

A Brother And 7 Siblings Movie Ending Explained: How Does Moko Fix His Family Once Again?
Image
As a society, it’s evident that people today are stretched thinner than ever in this dog-eat-dog world. Large joint families are gradually giving way to smaller nuclear families, and at the heart of this shift lies the question of who takes on the role of the provider. With today’s increasingly uncertain economy around the world, being the breadwinner of a family has become far more challenging than it was two decades ago. Writer-director Yandy Laurens’ latest Indonesian drama, A Brother and 7 Siblings, is adapted from a soap opera of the 90s, and the film deals with the struggle of a young man trying to provide for a family when he’s left with no other choice. Naturally, there’s bound to be a difference of opinion on the matter. Some might feel it’s easier to get by on their own rather than stay with their families, while others might disagree,...

We will seize these moments to further strengthen Jaff’s position in supporting the culture and film industry in Indonesia. We are preparing a grand celebration to mark the festival’s 20-year journey, while this year’s Jaff Market will provide even more space for exhibitors and international film industry players,...

Alex Abbad, Nirina Zubir, Julie Estelle, Ringgo Agus Rahman, Dion Wiyoko, and Sheila Dara Aisha in Falling in Love Like in Movies (2023)
Film Review: A Brother and 7 Siblings (2024) by Yandy Laurens
Alex Abbad, Nirina Zubir, Julie Estelle, Ringgo Agus Rahman, Dion Wiyoko, and Sheila Dara Aisha in Falling in Love Like in Movies (2023)
Yandy Laurens‘s previous film, “Falling in Love Like in Movies” was one of the best films of 2023, with his approach on the ‘film-about-film’ concept being as unique as it was smart. With “A Brother and 7 Siblings” however, he opts for a rather mainstream approach, that definitely aims to please the (Indonesian) audience. Let us see how he fares.

A Brother and 7 Siblings screened at Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival

After the untimely death of his older siblings, Moko, a struggling young architect, sees his dreams for studying for a master go to waste, as he has to become a single parent for a newborn baby, along with three more siblings, Woko, Nina and Ano. At the same time, he pushes his girlfriend, Maurin, away, as she continues on a path he also hoped to follow. His life is essentially tragic, with him barely having time to get work to support his younger relatives,...

Invincible Season 2 Just Set the Series’ Endgame in Motion Already
Image
This article contains major spoilers for Invincible season 2 episode 4 and some light spoilers from the comics.

Back before Invincible season 2 premiered, Den of Geek caught up with comic series creator and TV show producer Robert Kirkman to discuss many aspects of the show, including the decision to split the eight-episode second season into two parts, separated by a lengthy holiday season hiatus. Kirkman’s response was telling.

“After the fourth episode of season 2, you’re definitely gonna need a break … a breather. You’re gonna need time to digest,” the writer said.

It’s fair to say that we’ll indeed need plenty of time to digest the wild events of season 2 episode 4 “It’s Been a While.” While the previous episode revealed where Mark’s dad Nolan Grayson a.k.a. Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) had flown off to following their bloody fight. This episode explains how he came to be on the planet Thraxa,...
