“Vought Rising,” Amazon’s upcoming prequel to “The Boys,” has added Will Hochman to its cast, Variety has learned exclusively.
Hochman joins previously announced leads Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash in the series, which was ordered at Prime Video in July 2024. Variety also reported that Mason Dye, who will appear in “The Boys” Season 5 as Bombsight, could also potentially appear in “Vought Rising.”
Exact details on Hochman’s character are being kept under wraps.

Hochman recently starred in five seasons of the hit CBS procedural “Blue Bloods” in the role of Joe Hill. He also recurred opposite Billy Crystal and Judith Light on the Apple TV+ series “Before.

Kevin Costner has built a career playing men of principle. But long before Yellowstone turned him into TV’s ultimate cowboy, he starred in one of the biggest films of the 90s alongside music icon Whitney Houston. Though often remembered for its soundtrack, The Bodyguard is much more than a love story set to Houston’s vocals.
Decades later, The Bodyguard remains one of the most successful films of its era, even though its reputation doesn’t always reflect that. Far too often dismissed as just another sappy romance, the film is a heart-pounding action thriller with depth, substance and one of the most unforgettable cinematic moments of the decade.
The Bodyguard Was a Blockbuster 1990s Hit
Starring an unlikely duo, The Bodyguard is James Bond meets My Best Friend’s Wedding. Whitney Houston plays Rachel Marron, a superstar actress and singer who’s receiving death threats from an obsessive stalker.

Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Costner is universally known for his role in Western films. The filmmaker wanted to restore the genre's popularity with the Horizon: An American Saga film series and continues to believe in the project despite the first installment's poor critical and commercial reception.
Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 premiered on June 28, 2024, 36 years after Costner started developing the series in 1988. A longtime passion project for the actor and director, who used his own money to produce it, the franchise is supposed to include four epic Western films. At the premiere of Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2, Costner told Decider he's still confident the series would be a success, citing the first installment's journey on streaming.

If you're ever fortunate enough to interview a great filmmaker, or simply find yourself occupying the same space as one and want to make the moment meaningful before it passes, you'll always get a genuine answer when you ask them to name the movie that made them fall in love with the medium. This may not be true in years to come, when creators who grew up during the downtick in theatrical exhibition and the explosion of TikTok craft art meant to be digested in 30-second morsels on your smartphone, but right now it is a near certainty that your favorite director got bit by the cinema bug while sitting in a darkened theater — and that's a memory they can access as fast as their first kiss (do not ask them about that).

The Western genre is having a renaissance in the 2020a, partly due to Taylor Sheridan and John Linson's hit series Yellowstone, which has expanded into its own universe. Kevin Costner starred in the majority of the series as John Dutton, the tough-as-nails ultra-masculine patriarch protecting his family's ranch from land developers and other conflicts. But Yellowstone wasn't Costner's first rodeo in the Western or neo-Western genre, nor was it his last.

Kevin Costner will always be known for his role in Yellowstone, the Taylor Sheridan-created series that has been such a success it spawned spin-offs starring Harrison Ford, Tim McGraw, and more. However, shortly after the conclusion of Yellowstone Season 3, Costner starred alongside an Inside Out veteran in another Western that returned to free streaming charts five years later. Costner features alongside Diane Lane in Let Him Go, the 2020 psychological thriller following a retired sheriff and his wife who set out to find their only grandson while still grieving their son. The film earned scores of 85% from critics and 76% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it is currently the #5 most popular movie on Freevee at the time of writing.

Following Kevin Costner’s success in the highly acclaimed series Yellowstone, great things were expected from the actor, especially since he ventured into Western filmmaking with his 2024 two-part franchise starter Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1. However, although the sprawling Western epic had promised to be something fresh and groundbreaking, the film suffered a catastrophic blow at the box office.

Westerns experienced a decline in popularity until Clint Eastwood's Dollars trilogy revived the genre, and Kevin Costner helped revive them further. Kevin Costner's recent Western, Horizon: An American Saga, has divided audiences and critics but is proof that the Western genre is alive and well. Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1s Kevin Costner has no interest in "spoon-feeding" audiences who see his new Western. The filmmaker says, "I'm so tired of everybody trying to be so delicate about things," as he defends Horizon. "[The Native Americans] were pissed, according to Costner, where the perceived stereotypical depiction of Indians are the bad guys in Horizon is concerned. Costner set his sights on the Horizon nearly 40 years ago, back when he first started developing the idea in 1988.
I'm so tired of everybody trying to be so delicate about things. Those are the words of Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1s filmmaker and star, Kevin Costner. Costners new Western does present the Apache as being angry with and violent toward the Horizon settlements people, as the movies brutal massacre plainly presents. But Costner doesnt want audiences to get the wrong idea and think Horizon is another stereotypical representation of Native Americans.

With “Inside Out 2” dominating the past few weekends, it’s time for another franchise movie to have a chance to swoop in and take #1 … or maybe not. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
Things have generally picked up this month at the box office, and Paramount Pictures’ “A Quiet Place: Day One” will try to keep things rolling with the new installment in a franchise that has grossed $631.5 million over the course of two movies, with one of them released at the height of Covid. Directed by John Krasinski, the first movie opened in 2018 with $50.2 million, leading to a sequel that was delayed a full year due to the pandemic but still did relatively well.
The prequel is co-written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, who made his debut with the 2021 Nicolas Cage thriller “Pig.” It stars Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o as a woman dying from cancer...

After a long break, Kevin Costner returns to leading roles with Horizon, aiming to make up for past disappointments in Let Him Go. Despite the success of Yellowstone, Horizon's risky release plan raises concerns about the future of Costner's newest project. Costner's career has had its ups and downs, but Horizon: An American Saga is his chance to prove he can still deliver a hit film.

While he is now primarily known as an icon of the Western genre thanks to the overwhelming success of Yellowstone and his neo-Western thriller Let Him Go, Kevin Costner helped prop up many underrepresented genres during the first stage of his career. Sometimes it takes the enthusiasm of a major star to help generate interest in a specific genre among average moviegoers, and Costner certainly helped modernize the espionage genre with a series of classics in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Political thrillers like JFK and The Bodyguard were far more commercially successful, but the underrated neo-noir thriller No Way Out certainly ranks among his very best projects. Although it reveals itself to be a much more complicated commentary on patriotism than it suggests early on, No Way Out is a rare classic that can only be watched once.

Kevin Costner's has pioneered the modern rejuvenation of Western-set storytelling, proving that the genre still has the potential for mass market appeal thanks to the overwhelming success of Yellowstone. While Costner's tenure on the series may have concluded, he's set to make his return to the directors chair with the two-part epic Horizon: An American Saga, which is set to make its debut at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Costner's in a unique position as being both a Western icon and an incomparable movie star, which he shows off in the underrated 2020 Western thriller Let Him Go. The movie starts off as a typical Western “dad movie,” but its surprising twist towards ultra-violence suggested that Costner was willing to take classical material and adapt it for the times.

Kevin Costner has a new movie passion project, and it’s set to shoot at the start of 2025: more on the film here.
Busy, busy times in the filmmaking life of Kevin Costner. After taking several years away from the big screen to pursue the TV series Yellowstone – with the exception of impressive big screen thriller Let Him Go in 2020 – he’s now got several movies on the go.
Two of them are already shot: the opening two parts of the planned four movie western saga Horizon. Whilst we don’t have UK release details, the two Horizon: An American Saga films that are pretty much completed will be released this summer. The plan is for four films, but as was revealed a few weeks ago, the funding isn’t quite in place for films three and four.
Kevin Costner has co-written the films. He also directs and stars.

My Life with the Walter Boys was filmed in Calgary, Canada, and some scenes were also filmed in Cochrane. The scenic landscapes of lakes, fields, and forests create a believable small town setting in Colorado. The Fairmont Palliser in downtown Calgary was used to film the New York scene in the series, where Jackie hosts a high school party in a lavish ballroom. The Cl Western Town and Backlot in Bragg Creek, Alberta's Foothills, was the filming location for the Walter Ranch. This space was also used in other productions like The Last of Us and Let Him Go.
Netflix's new teen series My Life with the Walter Boys has a lot of drama, romance, and love triangles, but its dreamy country landscapes have viewers wondering where the series was filmed. Kevin Costner is taking a massive risk with his Western epic film, Horizon: An American Saga, by personally financing and contributing his own money to the production. Costner has a history of self-financing movies, but most of those projects have flopped, with only a few exceptions such as Dances with Wolves and The Bodyguard. Horizon is Costner's biggest self-financing gamble yet, with a reported budget of $100 million and him mortgaging his California home to cover costs. Despite the financial risk, Costner is passionate about the project and believes in its story.

It didn’t take long to see the problem after Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again paused production in mid-June during the writers strike. Fewer than half of the series’ 18 episodes had been shot, but it was enough for Marvel executives, including chief Kevin Feige, to review the footage and come away with a clear-eyed assessment: The show wasn’t working.
So, in late September, Marvel quietly let go of head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman and also released the directors for the remainder of the season as part of a significant creative reboot of the series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The studio is now on the hunt for new writers and directors for the project, which stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer turned superhero.

While chatting with Deadline, the Yellowstone actor stated that he took out a mortgage on his 10-acre home in Santa Barbara, California, to cover expenses for part of the project's cost himself.
Costner said, "I've mortgaged 10 acres on the water in Santa Barbara where I was going to build my last house. But I did it without a thought. It has thrown my accountant into a f------ conniption fit. But it's my life, and I believe in the idea and the story."
The star then added that he'd been working on various elements of the four-part Western series Horizon since 1988 but has since been having difficulties finding "anybody to make it."

Plot: The Good House follows Hildy Good, a wry New England realtor and descendant of the Salem witches, who loves her wine and her secrets. Her compartmentalized life begins to unravel as she rekindles a romance with her old high-school flame and becomes dangerously entwined in one person’s reckless behavior. Igniting long-buried emotions and family secrets, Hildy is propelled toward a reckoning with the one person she’s been avoiding for decades: herself.
Review: Believe it or not, it has been over a decade since Sigourney Weaver was the lead in a feature film. While she has acted steadily in major supporting roles or as part of an ensemble, Weaver’s last top-billed performance was in 2007’s The Girl in the Park. At 72, Weaver has had key roles in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise and was even a Marvel villain in Netflix’s Defenders series, but The Good House...

Like many an entertaining addict, Hildy Good is a great storyteller, providing withering judgments about the people in her orbit amidst all the latest gossip. But like all addicts, the stories she tells always exonerate herself and her behavior — she’s just fine, it’s everyone else who’s messed up. And so what if she sneaks wine after having already been sent to rehab? She never drinks before 5pm, so it’s not like she’s an alcoholic or anything.
Sigourney Weaver plunges herself into the role of Hildy in “The Good House,” and it’s been a while since this titan of cinema has been given a character with the complexity (and the screen time) that the actor deserves. Weaver’s droll comic style has surfaced periodically over the course of...

The Oscar nominee is on excellent form in a sweet-natured Cinderella tale about a cleaner on a mission to buy a Dior dress
It’s been a reassuringly robust summer at the box office, records breaking here, there and everywhere (sometimes all at once), but sighs of relief from the industry haven’t been able to mask personal sighs of exhaustion, a not necessarily bad season but a largely unremarkable one. There’s been a sense of fun missing, something that usually defines the films released during this period but not something that a maverick, a T rex, a Thor or an Elvis could truly deliver. It’s therefore rather delicious that it would arrive courtesy of Lesley Manville, floating into cinemas with Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, a charming flight of fancy that rewards the long-time character actor with a much-deserved chance to finally play the lead, a Cinderella...

Diane Lane is set as the female lead opposite Jeff Daniels in A Man in Full, Netflix’s six-episode limited series based on Tom Wolfe’s 1998 novel, from David E. Kelley and Regina King.
In A Man In Full, when Atlanta real estate mogul Charlie Croker (Daniels) faces sudden bankruptcy, political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace.
Lane plays Martha Croker. Martha emerges from the shadow of her ex-husband (Daniels) while his real estate empire begins to crumble. Beware the dormant, Martha’s rebuild poses a threat both personally and financially as three decades of marriage comes with its baggage.
Kelley serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner, with King directing three episodes and exec producing as part of her first-look deal with Netflix via her Royal Ties production company. Matthew Tinker also executive produces.
