Cheesy Zombie movie based on the 1950's

I really enjoyed this movie. Was it perfect, not really but I was around in the 1950's and I was a fan then. The frosting on the cake came when the big black guy, that joined the zombie fighting crew mentioned where he became a zombie expert and brought our a box full of monster comic books, same as I had, during that era. Been a monster movie fan since then. (Yes, I'm rather old.) Also enjoyed the fake vehicle and special effects, also in tune with the era. Even the singer, and the nice dumb guy were perfect. They don't make them like that any more people prefer "realistic". Still laughing when I remember some parts.

Not what I expected

I don't typically like zombie films but this one was completely different. The noir detective angle, the creative visuals and humorous dialogue elevated it to an engaging experience. I thought it was well acted all around and most notably from the singer, the washed up detective, Jack and the big guy, Earl. The cast chemistry was excellent. The live action photographs were a nice touch. Music was good. There were some points where the sound and animated backgrounds were a little inconsistent but it didn't take away from the watchability. Overall, I found this to be a fun and pleasant surprise.
