    Very hard to watch

This guy, as far as interview skills go, was the anti Robert Osborne. Robert knew how to make the citizens of old Hollywood feel at home, knew how to ask questions to get the conversation going, and he knew how to say nothing while the interviewee just started talking. As a result he got some of the most interesting and revealing information and insights from people like Mickey Rooney and Betty Hutton, who felt at home with Robert and knew they were in friendly territory.

Mr. Lowe acts like these interviews are all about himself, doesn't let the interviewee finish their answer before he hits them with another rapid fire question, and just acts disinterested in general if they do manage to open up. There are some segments of these shows on youtube, and if you watch them you'll see what I mean about his interviews being uncomfortable and difficult to watch.

I give three stars just because he did come up with interesting guests. It's a shame he didn't let them talk about themselves more.

    interviews with the stars

The fact that Skip E. Lowe was able to give an interview to some of the big stars of classical Hollywood and the world of music is impressive. At first, I was not into his style of interrupting guests and not asking insightful questions that I would've liked to know, but he didn't ask any gotcha ones either. He was a comic so watching his show was fun. He usually just went with the flow of things, and I came to like that. I think he may be the best interviewer of all because he actually cared and talked to people with a real sense of integrity. He didn't try to make it about their career, or what they had done before. It was an experience when you watch Skip E. He takes you on a journey. As a kid, I found interviewers to be so boring. You could not say that about Skip; sure, I guess he could've done better with his research and let people speak, he could've done a few things, but he did it in a neat way to. The show is unforgettable once you've seen it. And he even got a character created after him from the show. His own career is worth learning about. He had a starring role in black shampoo and is a hilarious man and wonderful host.
