The movie was really good it wasn't outstanding when it came to the vfx and special effects but when it came to an actual story and storytelling the movie far surpasses previous horror movie with having a good story based on our folklore and history but also quite a revelation of what had actually happened and doesn't leave it in a cliffhanger, most of the actors were quite good in their acting accept few, which I thought were overacting quite a bit but in overall a entertaining movie I quite enjoyed.
Name of the movie 'Kathaputali the Puppet' is intriguing and so are the backdrop story on dynasts, mysterious film locations, traditional rituals and spooky late night river scenes. The movie does not have any songs yet has spellbinding soundtracks. Kathaputali feels like an intense thriller drama in addition to being a horror movie. Regarding some flaws, 'There is a time and place for everything', and for me this is the moment to cherish this multi-national creation. Kathaputali is a must watch unique movie with friends and family.
In terms of acting, Mithila Sharma and Usha Rajak's performance was simply impressive. Unlike these two, Karma wasn't able to dive into the character at times. He was just being Karma sometimes that made you wonder if you are watching his some other non horror movie. Sound and picture quality could have used lots of improvement. What I enjoyed about this movie is it touches on some history that were actually true and that it utlizes Nepali folklores. I also enjoyed the story telling. Overall, I am impressed with this Nepali movie though given the budget constraints and the fact that this genre that is still in it's infancy in Nepali movies.
Boring. Does not evoke goosebumps as the original Ratsasan. Watch the original and skip the hindi remake. Remake should have been darker. The light hearted way takes the interest away from the movie. Akshay should do better movies and not just for money. He looks old and very bad when he cries. The actor in the original movie was awesome. Rakul preet is very good and the saving grace of the movie. The actress playing SHO madam was good too. The locations are great nonetheless. The kasauli look gives a very good look to the movie. Music and background score are not upto mark. Great to see chandrachur back. Other characters are good. The movie should have had better direction.
As it is nepali movie. I love nepali movies. This is a 2021 Nepali horror film that delves into traditional rituals and mysterious occurrences. The story follows a group of friends who, after the mysterious death of their friend Xiaoman, venture to Yuanyao Village to uncover the truth behind her demise. The film is noted for its intriguing backdrop, mysterious locations, and the absence of songs, relying instead on a spellbinding soundtrack to enhance its eerie atmosphere. While some viewers appreciate its unique approach to horror, others find it less impactful. Overall, "The Puppet" offers a fresh perspective within Nepali cinema, blending cultural elements with suspenseful storytelling.
