I watched the first season and was amused. There were some very funny moments, definitely enough for me to be interested in a second season. At about the episode 4 mark in season 2 (the Ferris bueller one), I was HOOKED. I'm howling with laughter, rewinding scenes to catch all the jokes, and loving every minute. I'm not sure why people say the show is not woke- it's humor and comedy without punching down. The humor comes from the situations and personalities, not at the expense of marginalized people. There is not a huge amount of politicizing issues, but that's on brand for the characters and their lives. I absolutely love this show and will continue watching it! 8/10 because the first season was a little hit or miss for me.
Very funny show and Chandra Russell absolutely makes this show what it is. But it seems to be losing its way in season 2. I'm only on season 2 episode 5 so hopefully it gets back on track.
Funny! Please go and watch! I promise that you will love this show. It's nice to just put on in the background and laugh every now and then while you're busy. I found myself turning my full attention to the show. I love it! I like that the laughs come from everyone. Its not predicated on 1 person carrying the show. I wish more folks new about it. I dont want it to get cancelled. Im sure if folks knew about this show, they would enjoy it. I am a fan and i cant wait for the next season (if there will be one).
Super underrated. Comedic gold in my humble opinion. The cast, jokes, writing, Chi references are all top notch and worth viewing multiple times.

Based only on the first episode, this is a very funny new show from Comedy Central. The pace and editing means that the jokes come at you fast with basically no time to catch your breath. The first episode does a lot of leg work establishing the characters and the world and it does a great job doing so. For people who have watched Reno 911! and Workaholics, South Side will definitely feel familiar in a general sense, but also fresh and new because of how underrepresented Black creators are. There are times where you can feel how the actors are improvising and playing off each other, which is very reminiscent of the other shows I mentioned and it's something I personally love. I love comedies that feel just a bit unpolished.
This show is good. It's fast paced, the characters are great, the world is interesting and it's very funny. I'm definitely tuning in again.

And this show is still hilarious! Also hilarious is the 1 star review from the clueless conservative nutjob complaining about the liberal agenda. What a tool.
