Sabrina Carpenter has been taking over the music scene with her irresistibly catchy tunes; her latest album, Short n’ Sweet, is no exception. From high-profile romances to whirlwind flings, her relationships have often found their way into her songs, keeping fans buzzing with speculation.

Even before she dropped the steamy lyrics of her newest album, Carpenter’s dating history had already been a hot topic. Over the years, she’s been linked to fellow Disney stars, had romances that inspired heartfelt tracks, and experienced fleeting connections that were, well, short and sweet.

10 Best Sabrina Carpenter Movies & TV Shows, Ranked
Image
She ruled the Billboard charts in 2024 with her hit songs "Espresso," "Please Please Please," and "Taste." Her "Short n' Sweet" world tour filled arenas across the United States and Canada. To top it all off, she walked away from the 2025 Grammys with two awards for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. Of course, we're talking about the entendre-loving pop superstar and short queen, Sabrina Carpenter.

To the casual pop culture consumer, it might seem like Sabrina Carpenter popped up out of nowhere in 2024 to take the music world by storm, but that's hardly the case. Carpenter has been a dedicated performer since she was a pre-teen, finding success as a star on the Disney Channel and releasing her debut album, "Eyes Widen Open," all the way back in 2015. However, it wasn't until her 2022 record, "Emails I Can't Send," that established her as a mainstream pop star in the making,...

‘Time Cut’ Netflix Review: If ‘The Barbie Diaries’ Was A Slasher
Image
2006’s The Barbie Diaries was one of my favorite Barbie movies ever, despite being derivative of everything of the era, especially Mean Girls. Watching Time Cut had me feeling the same way, but I suppose it didn’t evoke as much of a positive reaction as the other one, and I’ll tell you why. Time Cut follows Lucy, a high schooler whose sister was murdered before she was born. Lucy finds herself wondering what it would’ve been like with her sister alive, only to learn about it when she accidentally time travels to a few days before her sister’s death. Look, the premise is madly intriguing, and that’s also why it’s a difficult film to make. I found myself circling back to the idea of a “wholesome” slasher, a “feel good” horror. Doesn’t make sense at all, yet it makes complete sense, no? Netflix...

Time Cut Director Hannah Macpherson Reveals Early 2000s Horror Inspiration & Praises Chemistry Of Young Netflix Stars
Image
Netflix mixes it up this Halloween season with Time Cut, a new horror sci-fi movie that celebrates the bonds of sisterhood. Directed by Hannah Macpherson and co-written by her and Michael Kennedy, the film centers on Lucy Field (played by Outer Banks star Madison Bailey), a teenager in 2024 who discovers a time machine that takes her back to 2003, when the sister she never met was last alive. Summer is a popular high schooler in the early aughts with no idea that a serial killer is about to end her life unless her baby sister saves her.

Bailey and Gentry both come from hit Netflix shows, and Time Cut gives them the opportunity to join forces and expand their current repertoire. The new movie not only blends genres, it also makes excellent use of 2000s music and fashion to paint a unique picture as Lucy and Summer try to outsmart and outlast their tormenter.

George & Tammy Allows Steve Zahn to Show His Dark Side
Image
[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for George & Tammy.]Actor Steve Zahn has got it going on. No matter the size of the role, which up until recently for him has been typically on the smaller side, the character actor is always going to deliver just what the doctor ordered. He’s reliable, quick on his feet, and downright hilarious. Up until 2021, with his leading man-esque turn as the troubled Mark Mossbacher in Season 1 of Mike White’s hit HBO hotel dramedy series The White Lotus, Zahn has been more of a scene stealer in family friendly projects. For four episodes on Modern Family, he starred as Ronnie Lafontaine, the wacky neighbor husband that Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) desperately tried to avoid. He played a classic lovable dad in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, the geeky goofball sweetheart Marvin alongside Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin in the classic comedy Daddy Day Care, and...

‘Fear the Walking Dead’: Post-Apocalyptic ‘Romeo & Juliet’ (Recap)
Image
[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 10, “Mourning Cloak.”] Do you sometimes wish Fear The Walking Dead played like a Netflix original? If so, you’re in luck: The “Mourning Cloak” episode is this show doing its own version of the coming-of-age movies for which Netflix is known. Call this the Twd-verse’s spin on the form: Romeo & Juliet… and zombies. Because there’s only one character on Fear in that age range — with Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) having grown out of teen-dom several time jumps ago — there’s only one character this episode can center around: Charlie (Alexa Nisenson). We’re also introduced to a new character named Ali (Ashton Arab), who is, you guessed it, Charlie’s love interest. Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC For an episode centered on Charlie, a decent amount of the plot does revolve around Ali. We learn ...

‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Tops VOD Charts for Second Week
Image
The legacy of the late Ivan Reitman lives on with “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” (Sony/$5.99) for which he was the sole producer, repeated at #1 on all VOD charts this week. Its recent reduced price sustained a successful multi-platform run ($200 million theatrical worldwide) for a $75 million production.

The film was directed by his son and reflects a return to box office form for both. Reitman père had more than 20 projects in varying stages of development. “Afterlife” showed he remained vital in comedy, a genre that gets short shrift in theaters today.

VOD charts showed little change this week, including any impact from last Tuesday’s Oscar nominations. “Dune” (Warner Bros./$5.99) rose from last week, taking two #2 slots and placing on all three. The only other films among the top contenders to appear are “King Richard” (Warner Bros./$19.99), which is #7 at Vudu, and “Belfast” (Focus/$19.99), #10 at iTunes.

Netflix, which scored the best of any company with 27 total nominations,...

Tall Girl 2: She's Back And She's Taller Than Ever
Clara Wilsey, Griffin Gluck, Sabrina Carpenter, Paris Berelc, Anjelika Washington, Ava Michelle, Rico Paris, and Luke Eisner in Tall Girl (2019)
Ah, "Tall Girl," the much-discussed Netflix coming-of-age film that sounds like a fake movie from "30 Rock." The film was on the receiving end of a lot of jokes when it debuted in 2019, but a new trailer for "Tall Girl 2" proves the first one wasn't actually a fever dream I had but, in fact, a real movie.

Despite the title, the new trailer for "Tall Girl 2" veers away from its central character's height, instead focusing on her friendships, romances, and lead role in a school production of "Bye, Bye Birdie." The first "Tall Girl" movie was all about Jodi's (Ava Michelle)...
