Good show for the young ones

DreamWorks doesn't dabble into preschool too often. I believe this is their first preschool show (correct me if I'm wrong). However, for them just starting out, this show made the landing.

Animation and Art Style: Easily the best aspect of the show. The animation is extremely beautiful, I could stare at it forever. The art style is adorable and each character has a distinct design.

Characters: Daisy and Cole are cute, though they have the same personality which is an issue when it comes to preschool shows. However the side characters really stand out. They're inspired by nursery rhymes, and the show puts a unique spin on them. For example, Mary from "Mary Mary Quite Contrary" is a rather snarky hedgehog. In one episode a lamb follows her around, alluding to "Mary Had A Little Lamb." Despite having an infamous fall, Humpty Dumpty is a daredevil who loves trying new things (and who has an overprotective mom). Jack and Jill are inventors in this version. It's good stuff.

Writing: Despite being based on nursery rhymes, the writing isn't as babyish as I expected. There are clever comments made by Mary, and the show seamlessly blends the nursery rhymes together to make a nursery rhyme universe of sorts. Plus as I mentioned above, the characters are, for the most part, well written.

Music: The Music is folk-inspired and quite catchy. It puts a new spin on beloved classic nursery rhymes and features original songs too.

Enjoyment: If you have a kid who loves nursery rhyme inspired shows such as the Mother Goose Club and Goldie & Bear, this show is just right for them. It's a lot better than I expected and it's a cute, fun show if you want to turn your brain off.

A win!

Animation is spot on. Easy to watch and doesn't torture the parents.

It's fun!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this show! My older two (3.5yr old and a almost 2yr old) LOVE this show. They get so excited when we're going to watch "Daisy and Cole". They will even watch it instead of paw patrol which is a feat in itself.

The songs are revamped and catchy, the show has a storyline that goes with nursery rhymes and the characters are fun! Mary Mary is my favorite. She's a sassy hedgehog :)

So much singing

If your toddler enjoys nursery rhymes, look no further. The animation is also great.

Decent quality for a kid's show. Only a bit of cringe.

The songs are fun for kids and parents. It doesn't feel as low quality and contrived as most, so that's a huge bonus. Just be aware that this is clearly Anglo-centric American in writing and/or production. The biggest cringe for me is the character named "Jaime" (as printed consistently in the subtitles), which speaks Spanish. All the characters pronounce their name "Jay-mee" and the character is even voiced by someone of the wrong sex.

Many kids shows are far worse, so this is still pretty good as they go.

Really annoying accents

My two year olds like this cartoon but I wish they were never exposed to it. The accents are extremely annoying, the British accents sound forced and fake even though voiced by British actors. The American accents sound whiny; 'water' becomes 'warrrder'. The songs are horrible but thankfully short. I need to see if I can hide this title on Netflix.
