Image
Sweeping vistas. Hand-to-hand combat. Birthing dragons (kind of). For most TV fans, “The Wheel of Time” should call to mind “Game of Thrones” fairly quickly, but the epic fantasy book series pre-dates George R.R. Martin’s novels by about six years, and its TV adaptation has been in the works at Amazon for quite some time. The wait is nearly over. Amazon Prime Video unveiled the trailer for the upcoming Rosamund Pike-led fantasy series on Thursday, and you can watch it below.

Amazon’s synopsis for the series reads:

“Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one...

Matthew Janszen to Score ‘Aquaman: King of Atlantis’ for HBO Max — Exclusive
Image
Matthew Janszen, the talent behind the music on animated shows such as “Archibald’s Next Big Thing” and “ThunderCats Roar!”, is suiting up for an upcoming superhero project on HBO Max. IndieWire is exclusively announcing that Janszen will compose the streaming service’s upcoming “Aquaman: King of Atlantis,” an animated series that centers on the popular DC Comics superhero.

The three-part family-friendly “Aquaman: King of Atlantis,” which will be executive produced by 2018 “Aquaman” film director James Wan, is one of several DC-related projects slated to premiere on WarnerMedia’s new streaming service sometime in the future. Janszen is no stranger to musically-inclined family shows, such as Netflix’s aforementioned “Archibald’s Next Big Thing,” and the composer is particularly eager to tackle HBO Max’s “Aquaman” limited series since superhero projects allow for all manner of booming music tracks.

“When asked to be part of the series, I jumped at the opportunity...

‘Archibald’s Next Big Thing’ Season 2 Trailer: Tony Hale’s Little Chicken Returns to Netflix — Exclusive
Tony Hale in Les pérégrinations d'Archibald (2019)
Netflix is getting a decidedly big thing on March 20 when “Archibald’s Next Big Thing” Season 2 hits the streamer, and you can take a sneak peek at what’s in store below, where IndieWire is exclusively premiering the trailer.

The series, based on Tony Hale and Tony Biaggne’s bestselling children’s book, is coming back for a sophomore season that promises all sorts of uplifting, family-friendly fun. The “Archibald’s Next Big Thing” Season 2 trailer wastes little time getting to the action: The plucky yellow chicken protagonist adventures on frigid ice slopes, dances through a laser grid, jumps into a ball pit lake, and his friends even pilot a towering machine at a corn festival parade.

The series, produced and animated by DreamWorks, follows Archibald Strutter, the cheerful, curious chicken (voiced by Hale), his three siblings, Sage, Finly, and Loy, and lovable bee sidekick, appropriately named Bea. “Archibald’s Next Big Thing...

Matthew McConaughey at an event for Mud - Sur les rives du Mississippi (2012)
Netflix is adding a robust line-up of popular programs to its slate in March.

In addition to rom-coms like Matthew Mcconaughey’s “Ghosts of Girlfriend’s Past,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “Always a Bridesmaid,” the streamer is also adding a few classics like “Goodfellas” and “The Shawshank Redemption” starring Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The latter film also serves as an analogy for actor Macaulay Culkin’s journey to freedom, according to his Esquire interview.

Original Netflix shows coming to the platform next month include “Lost Girls,” “Crip Camp” and Season 3 of “Elite.” Based on a true story, “Lost Girls” follows a mother who, in her desperate search to find her missing daughter, helps to uncover a string of unsolved murders. Amy Ryan, Gabriel Byrne and Thomasin Mckenzie make up the cast.

“Elite” follows three working-class teens who enroll in an exclusive Spanish private school. But once they arrive,...

Castlevania (2017)
Netflix Is Adding Tons Of Great Horror Movies And TV Shows In March
Castlevania (2017)
With February 29th fast approaching – this is a Leap Year, remember – Netflix is preparing to roll out a fresh helping of new content for March 2020.

It’s a familiar combination of original series, time-honored classics and beloved franchise films, with next month set to herald the arrival of Resident Evil: Apocalypse and its undead sequel, Extinction. Sure, it’s a far cry from the quality and craft of The Lord of the Rings – speaking of which, both the Twin Towers and The Return of the King will be departing Netflix in four weeks’ time – but the saga of Alice still carved out an audience to call its own.

Also peppered throughout Netflix’s March 2020 catalog are some big-name horror titles and edge-of-your-seat thrillers, including Signs and the third season of Ozark. And then there’s the third season of Castlevania, which, it’s fair to say, has been a long time coming.

Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in Les Noces funèbres (2005)
New on Netflix: March 2020 Releases
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in Les Noces funèbres (2005)
Alec Bojalad Feb 19, 2020

Here's what's new on Netflix in March 2020! We've got a complete list of what's leaving, too.

Normally the big story for each month of Netflix new releases are the exciting batch of Netflix original series and movies arriving. For Netflix's new releases for March 2020, things are a little bit different. Yes, there are some cool originals here but...look at those movies!

March 1 sees the arrival of Corpse Bride, The Shawshank Redemption, There Will Be Blood, and Goodfellas! Martin Scorsese likely can't unilaterally decide when and where his movies stream, but it is a happy coincidence that Goodfellas will now exist alongside The Irishman.

As for those Netflix originals...Ozark is the biggest returning hit in March. The story of a very corrupt family airs its third season on March 27. Also of note are Castlevania season 3 (March 5), Altered Carbon: Resleeved (March 19). But really after Goodfellas, nothing else was really necessary.
