A parable. No doubts, a beautiful one for each detail, old flavors- reminding Gulliver travels - for the colors - the green remaining, for simple truths , for a time, in memory, as a state - , for clash between youth and oldness - reminding, in same measure, the childhood and long talks with grandparents- for poetry- precise , for rich and nuanced irony, seductive and useful in profound way.

A king, a country isolated in its believes , certitudes and life style, a courious boy and his family , a tender story about truths and essence of life, old scents of classic fairy tales and, not surprising, a magnificent story about wisdome.

In short, just lovely. Or, more fair, precious at whole.

Several references to Brittany in the film. The author of the book the Prince browses on his bed is breton, and Victor ABERVRACH the professor is named after the aber Vrac'h, an estuary in Finistère, Brittany.
