Must Watch

Inspector Dupin always gets his man. Or woman. Exciting well done and even humorous. It's strange hearing people say they know he's Parisian from his accent when they're all speaking German, but the stories are so good it doesn't matter. The subtitles are English so what's the difference. The actors are excellent especially Inspector Dupin. He's so precise and determined in his inspections and the funniest parts are when he uses red string to tie each picture & piece of the puzzle together. Can't wait for the next episodes.

I GOT PAST IT

It is odd to watch the subtitles in English if a series about a Parisian in Brittany, the actors speaking German, until you realize it's not so uncommon. Poirot is in English, machine a German watching it w/subtitles! It's very well done & worth watching. 😊

German-French complaints

Why is everyone complaining about German spoken in France? They are next door neighbors. No one complains about the billion of BBC shows (ex. Maigrette and Wallender) were English is spoken in foreign made/written stories.

Learn about Brittany.

Love this show and i hope it returns post-Covid. Lupin is a quirky character and easy on the eyes. He loses most of his quaint mannerisms as he learns the way of the Bretons. Scenery is gorgeous.

During Every episode i spend a lot of time on wikipedia as every murder is related to the region: from Paintings by Gaugin to oyster farms, to King Arthur to Celtic connections. Seems like more things happen here than the Paris precinct from where he was expelled.

"French" people but speaking German

How do you get past the dilemma of a series set in France, where the characters are supposed to be "French", but where the actors are all speaking German? You really cannot. It would have been far better if the producers had adapted the novel and set it in Germany.
