Described as "a chilling journey into the inner sanctum of fame, idolatry and the pursuit of excellence at any cost," the movie stars Marlon Wayans as legendary football star Isaiah White, who takes promising up-and-comer Cameron Cade (Tyriq Withers) under his wing.

Cam is initially delighted to train under the man he looks up to as a hero, but it soon becomes clear that White's extremely unorthodox methods cross more than a few lines - and may end up costing Cam his soul (literally).

Variety has reported that a 7th Heaven reboot series is officially in the works with Jessica Biel returning as a producer and Anthony Sparks showrunning. Michelle Purple will also produce the series along with Biel under their Iron Ocean Banner, with DeVon Franklin also attached to the reboot series as a producer with Franklin Entertainment. The reboot series will reportedly focus on a diverse family and will follow none of the original cast members, but the project is still in the early stages, meaning these details are subject to change. At the time of writing, no casting has been worked out, and it’s unclear where the series will stream or air. There is also no word on a potential release date or window.

The original 7th Heaven series was written and created for TV by Brenda Hampton, with Sue Tenny, Chris Olsen, and more working in the writer’s room on the series.

A reboot of “7th Heaven” is currently in early development at CBS Studios, Variety has learned from sources.

Anthony Sparks will serve as executive producer and showrunner on the reboot. Jessica Biel, who starred in the original series, is executive producing under her Iron Ocean banner along with Michelle Purple. DeVon Franklin will executive produce via Franklin Entertainment and his overall deal with CBS Studios.

Sources say that the new show would focus on a diverse family, and that none of the original cast members would appear. As the project is still in the very early stages, deals are still being worked out and no network or streamer is attached.

Earlier this year, Peacock announced that Jessica Biel would star in and executive produce The Good Daughter, a psychological thriller based on Karin Slaughters bestselling novel about two sisters who survive a brutal crime that shatters their family and uncovers dark secrets. Unfortunately, it seem that this is no longer the case as the Emmy award-nominated actress has dropped out of the project. The limited series was picked up by the NBCU streaming service in March, with Slaughter writing all episodes and executive producing with Biel.

Biel was set to play the role of Charlotte Quinn, and casting is now underway to find a replacement. According to Deadline, the reason for her departure from the miniseries is unknown at this time. Exclusive: Sherri Saum has signed with Paradigm for representation in all areas, Deadline has learned.

Saum is best known for her role as Lena Adams Foster in Freeform’s The Fosters and spinoff, Good Trouble. Her other credits include the role of Bess in Season 2 of HBO’s In Treatment, as well as recurring roles in FX’s Rescue Me, the original Gossip Girl, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the CW’s Roswell, New Mexico, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, and opposite Jessica Biel in Peacock limited series Limetown.

Saum recently starred as Ellie Whedon in Netflix’s Locke & Key. She recurred opposite Clifford ‘Method Man’ Smith, Jr. in Starz’s Power spinoff, Power Book II: Ghost as well as in Peacock’s sci-fi drama, Mrs Davis, and most recently in Netflix’s Dead Boy Detectives, which premiered on April 25.

The fourth movie directed by Get Out Oscar winner Jordan Peele will hit theaters on October 23, 2026 via Universal, the studio said Monday.

The movie was originally set for a December 2024 release but was pushed due to the strike.

Elizabeth Banks and Jessica Biel are set to headline a series adaptation of the Alafair Burke novel “The Better Sister” at Amazon Prime Video, Variety has learned.

“The Better Sister” is described as a thriller about “Chloe (Biel), who moves through the world with her handsome lawyer husband Adam and teenage son Ethan by her side while her estranged sister Nicky (Banks) hustles to make ends meet while trying to stay clean,” per the official description. “When Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, laying bare long-buried secrets.”

The series hails from Olivia Milch and Regina Corrado, who will serve as showrunners and executive producers. Banks will also executive produce via Brownstone Productions, as will Biel and Michelle Purple under their Iron Ocean Films banner. Emmy nominee Jessica Biel (The Sinner) is confirmed to star in and executive produce The Good Daughter, a limited series set up at Peacock. The drama is based on Karin Slaughter’s bestseller, with Slaughter attached to write and executive produce.

“The Good Daughter is a suspenseful crime drama where sisters Charlotte (Biel) and Samantha Quinn have spent the last twenty-eight years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence,” reads Peacock’s synopsis. “When another attack splinters the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte is the first witness on the scene. Now a lawyer like her father, she’s forced to confront her own demons as the case twists through one shocking revelation after another. In the end, both she and Samantha find themselves wondering if the price of being the good daughter was worth it after all.

Jessica Biel is continuing her string of psychologically twisty miniseries with The Good Daughter, a limited series ordered at Peacock on Tuesday that Biel will headline and executive-produce.

Based on the best-selling novel from Karin Slaughter — who also pens the Will Trent book series on which ABC’s drama is based — The Good Daughter follows sisters Charlotte (Biel) and Samantha Quinn, who have spent the last 28 years trying to piece together the lives that were fractured by a single night of violence.

Now the sports-related horror project is finally making its way toward production, and in recent weeks we’ve learned that Justin Tipping – who made his feature directorial debut with the 2016 drama Kicks – will be directing the film, with lead roles going to Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie) and Tyriq Withers (The Game). Alex Cooper and Matt Kaplan have tapped Mina Lefevre as the chief content officer of Television of their newly formed media company, Trending.

Lefevre will report to Kaplan and oversee creative, and strategic oversight for the company in scripted and unscripted.

Though the title hints at something revolving around everyone’s favorite farm animal, it is actually in reference to the sports acronym “Greatest Of All Time,” aka Goat, which is thrown around when debating today and yesterday’s sports legends. For this film, the story centers on a promising young athlete who is invited to train with a team’s retiring star.

The pitch goes into Monkeypaw’s diverse slate of projects as the company continues to stay busy. Next up on features side is Peele’s film Nope, which marks his next directing gig and is already building buzz following the final trailer release today. That comes out July 22 with Universal.
