The Korean original of 2009 looks more appealing to me, I don't know if it's some kind of bias or anything, but I really liked that one. This one looks kind of artificial to me.

The last 30 minutes of the film salvages what was an atrocious first hour of the film. Even so, the last 30 minutes is just waves and waves of tear quenching plot lines. Yes, I cried, but the more you think about it, the more you realize the overall plot and lines are still ridiculous. The majority of the film is simply full of plot holes and contradictions, its just hard to get around the fact that the film is just very weak. The peripheral characters makes the film feel even worse, they are extreme stereotypes that makes the film feels even more superficial.

It just doesn't look right at the beginning, the story line was cringe. Like mehh........

This movie was magnificent, the moment i laid eyes a-pond this movie it immediately made my heart and chest tighten up, i stood up watching the entire film. I had never heard about this movie prior to actually standing up watching it, so i had no idea how this movie would change me. But, even thought how much this emotional and heart touching movie could make me feel, it had a problem. This movie indeed left me heart broken swimming tirelessly in my own tears of sadness.... i felt joy. The joy was of discovering a show this beautiful, and sexy, this movie made me wanted to show somehow of gratitude, and that is what made me ended up coming to write this review.

Very bad story line, waste of time, overrated movie. Watch only if you don't mind to waste your time.

I seriously don't know how the hell the movie is not touching. Go and seriously get a life. Don't just take it as you are single and gives stupid review and put a 1, 2, 3 or even 4 out of 10 for a fantastic movie. Go and get someone you love and you will know the gist behind this movie.

Hard to enjoy the movie as the story line is lame. Actors and actress tried their best in this movie tho

Crap plot, stupid characters, terrible pacing, annoying "jokes", nothing great in terms of cinematography... Absolutely zero redeeming quality.

Watched this in theatres and left at the hour mark. Was a complete waste of an hour. I left feeling angry that I had spent $10 to have my eyes, ears and intelligence assaulted.

This movie was made for prepubescent Chinese simpletons who listen to cheesy mandopop love songs that all sound the same. (Not being racist - I'm Chinese.)

K and Cream met at their age 16 when both of their family were gone cuz of sickness and accidence. Because of K sickness, he don't want be with Cream. K realized his life is coming to the end and hope Cream can someone to take care her. K do whatever it takes to make Cream to be with the guy he interested. Finally, Cream get married but it's not Cream's will...... The story dry my eyes out and be honest I didn't watch such a sad story for long while. But if think deeper, they have each other's. In a lifetime , if you can find a soulmate and someone you love, I classify you as one of the lucky ones. They cannot be together until the end but what they be through is precious.

I know it is the end of March but the worst movie of the year goes to.......... bi bei shang geng bei shang de gu shi!!!!!

There is no need to waste your time and money, trust me.

Try to watch the original Korean version, that one is so much better.

The whole cinema was crying. Everything's so touch especially the music. Storyline has some holes and is a little weird, but who cares?

My 55mins was wasted , I cannot believe that I wasted almost one hour on this movie

Worst storyline and the story doesn't make scene. Basically is told those people my life sucks but you can't better than me. The English subtitle is terrible. Stop using the wrong way to translate it. Hire a professional translator !!

Best movie for the year hands down, strongly recommended

I sat down to watch the 2018 movie "Bi bei shang geng bei shang de gu shi" (aka "More Than Blue") here in 2021. Granted, I had never heard about this movie prior to actually sitting down to watching it, so I had no idea what I was in for here. But what mattered was the fact that it was an Asian movie that I hadn't already seen.

And boy what a struggle it was to sit through the ordeal that is "More Than Blue". Writers Hermes Lu and Gavin Lin came up with an insanely boring and slow paced storyline, which was just so difficult to sit through. Especially since the contents of the storyline failed to capture my interest from very early on in the movie.

Sure, I will say that the movie's synopsis does make the movie sound interesting, but once sitting down to watch this movie, as directed by Gavin Lin, things just weren't all that interesting. And I have to admit that I just tossed the towel in the ring 1 hour into the movie. I just couldn't take the suffering of the slow paced and uneventful storyline any more. And needless to say that this is not a movie that I will ever be returning to finish watching.

It should be noted, though, that the actors and actresses in the movie were actually doing good enough jobs. I mean, they were definitely skilled at their art, but they had so very little to work with here in terms of a properly entertaining storyline.

I am rating Gavin Lin's "More Than Blue" a mere, but generous, three out of ten stars. This was a swing and a miss.

Based on all the reviews here, you either love it or hate it, nothing between! Personally I love it.

I don't know why this movie has bad rate on this page. You guys should go and see for youself. Strongly recommended.

One of the best taiwanese movie l've ever seen in my life(original from a korean movie) It tells the same story as the korean one but in a taiwanese way. A movie that you should give yourself a chance to watch and trust love again

The continuous shift between the various characters and the overall ending were quite nice. You do get to see the change in the personalities of the characters over time, which is what I wanted to see in this film.

There wasn't a sad ending. It was quite fitting. Considering the development of the film over time, you can begin to see where it was going. As more and more of the story is unveiled, you start to understand the complexities that were not apparent at the beginning.

This movie was made to make people feel the sadness that comes from love and loss. If you don't have any feelings toward these topics, the movie can be quite boring. If you are an "emotional" person, you will most likely enjoy this film. Some of the other reviewers mentioned that the translations were off. I am not sure about this as I watched it in the original language of filming. A lot might get lost in translation, so do try to have someone who can explain any parts you don't understand.

Well worth a watch, though I am unsure if anyone outside of the target market will get around to it.

I stayed away from talking about the story as the story needs to be viewed in completion to get the value. If you think this is vague, it is. It is meant to be.

As a half Korean/half Chinese mix, I have to say that I liked both versions of More than Blue. I saw the original one in 2010 and this one in 2019 - as it released in the USA now in select AMC/Regal theaters. This one was better than the original in my opinion because of the ways the characters lives out their part. Excellent movie with a lot of hangers and yes, it's sad but great acting. Our theater was full and had a mix range of Ages.

A god damn sad movie!! And the acting is just superb.

Saw this in Chicago and everyone in the theater was crying. Great story, plot, and good acting. Even if it is a recreation of the original, they did an awesome job!

I watched a lot of movies and I never cry before but I really cried for this.
