Hollywood couples sometimes bring their relationships into their work, resulting in some natural on-screen chemistry. Acting couples are nothing new, of course. The media has fixated on famous relationships many times over the years, and couples like Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor or Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart gained a lot of attention when they decided to work together.
In the 21st century, famous couples still like to team up on-screen when they have the chance. This isn't always the case, since some couples would prefer to keep their business and their personal lives separate, but a few couples work together brilliantly. Actors who do enjoy working with their spouses will often do so time and time again, leading to long-lasting collaborations in both movies and TV.

Since Lost ended almost fifteen years ago, I’ve been searching for a series that gives me the same sense of “what the f*** is going on.” That show finally arrived with From, a sci-fi horror series that unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. MGM+ has some great news for fans as the network announced that From has been renewed for season 4. Production on the new season will kick off in Nova Scotia in 2025 for a premiere in 2026.

His knees are bad, he’s paunchy and puffy, and the former celebrity hairdresser has gray roots at least 2 inches long. At 79, Jon Peters no longer is the bad-boy seducer of women from Barbra Streisand to Pamela Anderson, the inspiration for the Warren Beatty film Shampoo, the wild-man character that Bradley Cooper portrayed with all the old bluster in Paul Thomas Anderson’s 2021 film Licorice Pizza.
But as he sits in a combination bed- and sitting room in his apartment in the Beverly Hills flats, he still spins out grand plans that may or may not be grounded in reality. Let no one say that Jon Peters no longer dreams big.
I had not seen or spoken to Jon in the more than 25 years since the publication of Hit & Run, the book that Nancy Griffin and I wrote about Sony’s ill-advised 1989 decision to hire him and his then-partner,...

Much like the art or literature worlds, true originality is a rare commodity in gaming. Inspiration often walks a fine line between homage and outright replication. As much as innovation drives progress, many developers find inspiration in existing titles, sometimes to the point where their games feel more like clones than new creations.
This has given rise to games that borrow heavily from others. And many manage to succeed despite—or perhaps because of—their lack of originality. From Saints Row to The Simpsons Hit and Run, here are nine games that blatantly stole their entire premise from other games.

Exclusive: Leviathan Productions has enlisted Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz, creators of the hit Israeli series Fauda, to script October 7th, a narrative feature telling the harrowing true story of Noam Tibon.
A grandfather and retired Israeli general, Tibon garnered international attention when he rescued his family from the hands of Hamas terrorists who had invaded their kibbutz — with his story, capturing the Israeli spirit of resilience in the face of adversity.
Noam Tibon, the subject of Leviathan’s October 7th
Ben Cosgrove will produce the film telling that story for Leviathan Productions, with Jessica Kasmer-Jacobs and Talia Harris Ram exec producing. Noam Tibon and his son, Amir Tibon, will serve as consultants on the project.

As early as 2018 Jamaican superstar Shenseea was telling interviewers “By next year I want to be international, and when I say that, I don’t mean just as a dancehall artiste, but an international pop star.” Just last week Shenseea wondered aloud to Spotify if she should start classifying her sound as “dancehall pop” or “reggae pop.” Her second album, Never Gets Late Here, boldly continues on that long road to be the first Jamaican-born Main Pop Girl since Grace Jones and, thankfully, her attempts are mostly seamless.

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard's on-screen chemistry shines through in Carvana commercials, balancing humor and authenticity effortlessly. The couple's work together extends beyond ads to films like When In Rome, Hit & Run, and CHiPS, showcasing their dynamic partnership. Bell and Shepard's mutual affection, genuine chemistry, and ability to balance comedy and drama make them a standout couple in entertainment.
I couldn't believe what I found out when looking up the Carvana commercial actors, Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. Kristen Bell has charmed audiences with her roles in Veronica Mars and as the voice of Anna in Disney's Frozen. I love how her bubbly personality and quick wit shine through in everything she does. Bell's ability to connect with audiences makes her a standout performer who brings a touch of magic to every project she's involved in.

Sundance Now has picked up Domino Day, the BBC YA drama about a young witch with extraordinary powers in modern-day England.
Following its UK launch on BBC Three earlier this year and a strong critical showing, Domino Day will premiere in the U.S. this summer on Sundance Now and AMC+.
Set and filmed in Manchester, UK, the supernatural six-parter stars the BAFTA–nominated Siena Kelly (Adult Material, Hit & Run) as Domino Day, a young woman on all the dating apps. A young witch with extraordinary powers, Domino is desperately seeking a community who can help her understand who she is, but she doesn’t need to look far as a coven of witches is already tracking her every move, convinced they have to stop her before her powers destroy everyone and everything around her.

Fauda actor Lior Raz has posted a video of himself hiding from rockets as he joined a rescue mission in the bombarded Israeli town of Sderot.
The actor, who has also appeared in Hit & Run, 6 Underground and Apple TV+’s The Crowded Room — wrote that he had travelled to the devastated south of Israel to join “hundreds of brave ‘brothers in arms’ volunteers” who were working to aid the local population, and had been dispatched to extract two families.
The short video shows Raz taking cover as Hamas missiles fly over head and crashes are heard. It’s not clear when the mission took place or if it was successful.
Israel was struck by a surprise attack over the weekend, which has left hundreds dead, many in horrific circumstances, and men, women, children and the elderly taken hostage. Israel has responded by pounding Gaza with more than 4,500 rockets,...

“From” will be returning to MGM+ for a third season in 2024, the linear channel and streamer announced Thursday.
MGM+ renewed the sci-fi series, which centers on a monstrous town that traps its visitors, for a 10-episode third season, just days after “From” aired its season 2 finale.
After debuting its second season on April 23, “From” currently stands as the network’s second-most viewed series, behind only “Godfather of Harlem,” which was co-created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein and stars Forest Whitaker.
Created by John Griffin, the third installment of “From” will follow up on the season 2 finale cliffhanger, as “escape will become a tantalizing and very real possibility as the true nature of the town comes into focus, and the townspeople go on offense against the myriad horrors surrounding them,” per the official logline.

Apple may have entered the virtual reality arena earlier today with the unveiling of a new platform and headset, launched with the help of Disney boss Bob Iger, but in the real world it spent the day being targeted by writers.

In LA, a slew of writers went from protesting outside of Television City to The Grove, where Apple has one of its stores and handed out information about the strike to consumers interested in new iPhones and laptops.

“Barry” returns for its fourth and final season. After the shocking Season 3 finale which saw Barry (Billy Hader) getting arrested and Cousineau (Henry Winkler) being hailed as a hero, there will be plenty of consequences for both. The dark comedy premieres on April 16 with two episodes.
“A Black Lady Sketch Show” will also bring plenty of laughs when it returns for its fourth season. The sketch comedy series premieres April 14.

With its list of new releases for April 2023, HBO Max is premiering the final episodes of two major shows.
First up is the continuation of Titans season 4 on April 13. Returning after a four month hiatus, these next six episodes will be the last go around for HBO Max’s gritty live-action DC series. Arriving three days later on HBO proper is the fourth and final season of Barry. Bill Hader and the rest of the Barry team wrote themselves into a fascinating corner with the conclusion of season 3. And judging by the first teasers for season 4, this final batch of episodes will indeed catch up with our favorite actor/hitman in prison.
Other TV shows of note this month include the Pete Davidson-starring animated series Fired on Mars on April 20 (light ’em up) the the Elizabeth Olsen-starring true crime story Love & Death on April 27.

In the final season of HBO Max’s “Barry,” premiering on April 16, Barry’s arrest for the murder of Cousineau’s girlfriend leads to a shocking conclusion. Barry (Bill Hader), a hitman who stumbles into acting, explores the dark, often comedic underbelly of both LA gangsters and Hollywood. Henry Winkler stars as Cousineau, Barry’s acting teacher and the man forced to confront the reality of his former student.
Watch the “Barry” season 4 trailer:
Another crime story will come to HBO Max in April, although this one is based on a true story. “Love & Death” revolves around the murder of Betty Gore (played by Lily Rabe) in a small Texas town in 1980. Her husband Alan (Jesse Plemons) has an affair with Candy (Elizabeth Olsen), who attends their church. Suddenly, the thrills turn deadly. Exclusive: Laurie Zaks and her Rosewood Television banner are adapting a series of novels from Roselle Lim after striking a development deal with ITV Studios America.
Zaks, who was behind popular ABC drama series Castle, launched her company in 2021. At the time, having spent seven years as Head of Television at Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman’s Mandeville Films, she had a deal with ABC Signature.
She recently struck a deal with the U.S. arm of the British broadcaster and production group, and this marks her first major development project under that new agreement.
Rosewood Television and ITV Studios America will adapt three novels by Lim, a Canadian author of Filipino-Chinese heritage, as series. Books include Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune, which was published in 2019; Vanessa Yu’s Magical Paris Tea Shop, which came out in 2020; and Sophie Go’s Lonely Hearts Club, which was published last year.

February is the shortest month of the year but Prime Video is paying that no mind with its jam-packed list of new releases for February 2023.
This really is an uncommonly stuffed month on the Amazon streamer and it all starts with a handful of Amazon Originals. Amazon’s original offerings kick off with the release of Dave Franco-directed romcom Somebody I Used to Know on Feb. 10. That is followed by Carnival Row season 2 – a gritty fantasy crime drama is set in a world of steampunky fairies. The show stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevigne and this batch of episodes will be its swan song. Meanwhile The Consultant on Feb. 24 is a dark comedy workplace thriller starring Christoph Waltz.
The biggest hits this month, however, might just be some recent cinema faves. If February is for lovers, Amazon didn’t get the memo as there are quite a few horror movies of note here.

After six critically acclaimed seasons over a seven-year run, Better Call Saul came to a close with the fittingly titled episode "Saul Gone." The popular Breaking Bad spinoff series follows the exploits of Jimmy McGill before he was known as Saul Goodman, and proved itself to be a worthy follow-up to the original series. Much of this success is thanks to the incredibly talented cast of Better Call Saul, many of whom reprise their roles from Breaking Bad, including Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman. With the show at an end, the stars of Better Call Saul are moving on to a wide array of new TV shows and movies.
Better Call Saul was able to thrive on its various storylines for each character, even more so than Breaking Bad. The show expanded on familiar characters while also giving fresh storylines to the new ones, and the cast members...

Smallville actor Michael Rosenbaum shares a hilarious review from the film Hit and Run. Hit and Run is a 2012 action-comedy co-directed by David Palmer and Dax Shepard. It stars Shepared as former getaway driver Charles Bronson who has to jeopardize his Witness Protection Plan identity in order to get his girlfriend to Los Angeles. The travels that ensue are not smooth, offering a good deal of action and laughs. In addition to Shepard, Hit and Run also stars Rosenbaum, Shepard’s real-life partner Kristen Bell playing his girlfriend, Tom Arnold, Bradley Cooper, and Kristin Chenoweth.
Rosenbaum now shares an amusingly scathing review of Hit and Run on his web series Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. Though Rosenbaum thought Hit and Run “was actually really funny,” and that Shepared “did a great job” as both director and lead actor, the reviewer thought otherwise. Many directors have taken on the challenge of bringing Batman to the big screen. Some have been successful, while others have created ... well, less successful renderings of the infamous vigilante. Tim Burton's 1989 adaptation of the comics is often looked upon as one of the best realizations of the story of Bruce Wayne. A charismatic Michael Keaton dons the cowl in Burton's vision, and he is largely convincing as he protects Gotham from the evil clutches of Jack Nicholson's maniacal Joker.
When the film was released, it was a huge success. Everything about the movie, from its fantastic casting to its score by Danny Elfman, helped make it a hit. It went on to break blockbuster records with a massive 40 million opening weekend, and went on to make 400 million in its initial run. Beneath the film's box office numbers, however, a darker tale of betrayal was unfolding. Oftentimes, when...

It may seem strange now, but there was a time when superhero movies weren't taken seriously in the movie industry. After all, superheroes and the comics they originated from were often seen as fluff entertainment, primarily for children and teenagers. Movies like "Superman" and pretty much anything released by Marvel at this time solidified this.
This perception began to change in 1989 when Tim Burton's darkly comic take on "Batman" hit theaters. Although it was still tongue-in-cheek, Burton's version of Gotham was distinct in its moodiness, proving that comic books can be adapted into adult-oriented entertainment. However, the higher-ups at Warner Bros. were allegedly bracing for its failure, at least according to the 2016 book "Hit and Run" by Nancy Griffin and Kim Masters. The book centers around the rollercoaster careers of producers Jon Peters and Peter Guber, whose big gamble on the film was shrouded in skepticism throughout the Warner Bros.

In 2005, Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" introduced a darker and moodier version of the iconic superhero than had ever been seen on-screen before, and that angst and violence was further embraced by Matt Reeves' "The Batman" in 2022. For the first time in a while, moviegoers were given raw and brutal street fights between The Dark Knight and Gotham goons, and wanted more.
The overwhelming success of Nolan and Reeves' films proved that Batman fans longed for the tortured and barbaric version of the character after years of being dragged through goofy and childish portrayals of the vigilante in films such as 1966's "Batman," starring Adam West, and 1997's "Batman & Robin," starring George Clooney. Nolan's trilogy often receives credit, rightfully so, for tossing the grit and dirt back into the vigilante's image and tugging the film version of Batman closer to his graphic novel roots. However, Nolan wasn't the first...

Open-world video games offer an unprecedented level of freedom for players, and they're only getting better, more complex, and more detailed as time goes on. The most recent open-world games sport some truly massive cities that could theoretically double for the real thing, and more effort is going into making them as interactive as humanly possible.
Some of these games try their best to duplicate existing real-world cities, while others take inspiration from them to create new urban hubs. While some open-world games offer too little content, others offer maps overflowing with areas to explore and things to do.
Update: 2022/10/17 14:38 Est By George Chrysostomou
The video game industry has moved further and further into the realm of open-world gaming. Audiences absolutely love exploring these detailed environments, and throughout recent history, there have been some gorgeously designed cities in some of the biggest releases that are well worth diving into.

The Simpsons: Hit & Run defied the odds to not only be a great licensed game, but an excellent Grand Theft Auto clone as well. In an era where many games were trying to copy the GTA formula, Hit & Run did it right while also going in its own direction. While its other competitors faded away, Hit & Run remains fondly remembered.
The Simpsons: Hit & Run came out in 2003 for all major consoles of the period, and it came at the right time. The Simpsons was still incredibly popular, and the developers even got a lot of the voice cast to work on the game. The game itself was sort of a stripped-down version of Grand Theft Auto, with no weapons or excessive violence, but a similarly-styled sandbox. The game was packed with Simpsons references, and it was clearly made with the fans in mind. Simpsons: Hit & Run deserves a...

Rhea Seehorn may have lost her first Emmy bid for the final season of “Better Call Saul” but she could well be back in the hunt next year. Our sister site Deadline is reporting that she is reuniting with that show’s creator, Vince Gilligan for his new drama that has just landed a two-season commitment from Apple TV+.
As Nellie Andreeva notes, “the new series is said to be set in our world while putting a tweak on it, bending reality and focusing on people and exploring the human condition in an unexpected, surprising way. Thought-provoking but not a morality tale, the series also is expected to carry the signature Gilligan tone that infuses drama with humor.”
Gilligan has won four of his whopping 22 Emmy bids, picking up a pair as a producer of the crime drama “Breaking Bad” in 2013 and 2014 and two more for short form series — “Los...

The 2022 Emmys ballot for Best Drama Writing has 211 submissions, which will once again result in seven nominees in this category, something that has been consistent since 2020. Before we dive into this year’s likely writing contenders, let’s remember that last year’s winner was “The Crown” (“War” by Peter Morgan) and the other nominees were “The Boys” (“What I Know” by Rebecca Sonnenshine), “The Handmaid’s Tale” (“Home” by Yahlin Chang), “Lovecraft Country” (“Sundown” by Misha Green), “The Mandalorian” (“Chapter 13: The Jedi” by Dave Filoni), “The Mandalorian” (“Chapter 16: The Rescue” by Jon Favreau) and “Pose”.
None of these shows will be in contention this year, as they have either concluded or did not air any new episodes in the eligibility timeline, so this category will have a whole new batch of nominees. “Better Call Saul,” “Ozark” and “Succession” took 6/7 slots in this category two years ago the last time they were eligible,...

A message to members of the TV Academy: Want the easiest way to placate grouchy TV critics? Nominate Rhea Seehorn for her work on AMC’s Better Call Saul.
This really should be a breeze. This isn’t one of those situations where you’re ignoring The Wire or the first few seasons of Friday Night Lights or The Americans entirely and so no one expects you to recognize their casts. Plus, didn’t you see how grateful folks were when Kyle Chandler and Matthew Rhys finally surfaced on Emmy radars, however belatedly? Saul is a perennial outstanding drama series nominee and a show that has picked up acting nominations for Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks and Michael McKean (albeit for the wrong season) over the years.
So why not Seehorn? Wait. No. Let me rephrase that. So how can you possibly keep ignoring Seehorn?...

“Kim has not seen ‘Breaking Bad,’ so she’s unaware of the wall they’re running into,” declares actress Rhea Seehorn about the character of Kim Wexler she plays on “Better Call Saul.” For our recent webchat she continues, “It’s much easier to make 1,000 slightly bad decisions than one giant bad decision.” Watch the exclusive video interview above.
“Better Call Saul” is midway through its sixth and final season. Developing her acclaimed character (which is shockingly yet to receive an Emmy nomination), Seehorn admits, “Other than knowing she was going to be allowed to be complex, everything else was just coming a piece at a time, a jigsaw puzzle piece at a time. It was a very interesting dance. I was doing my own subtext and background work while they were doing theirs. We just had this feeding off of each other’s material in a way that wasn’t even spoken sometimes.
