Since Lost ended almost fifteen years ago, I’ve been searching for a series that gives me the same sense of “what the f*** is going on.” That show finally arrived with From, a sci-fi horror series that unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. MGM+ has some great news for fans as the network announced that From has been renewed for season 4. Production on the new season will kick off in Nova Scotia in 2025 for a premiere in 2026.

MGM+ announced today that the hit sci-fi horror series From has been renewed for a 10-episode fourth season. The series will return to production in Nova Scotia in 2025 and the new season will premiere in 2026.

In a surprise move, Yes CEO Ilan Sigal has decided to renew the hit Israeli drama Fauda for a fifth season.

According to Variety, Fauda was originally intended to end after its fourth season, but after talks held between Sigal and Netflix, which has streamed Fauda internationally, an arrangement was agreed upon to continue the drama series that addresses the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Sigal and the show's co-creator, Avi Issacharoff broke the news during an annual event held by the Yes company. The fourth season of Fauda was available to stream on Netflix earlier this year, but as yet there is no confirmed date for its return to the streaming platform.

“From” will be returning to MGM+ for a third season in 2024, the linear channel and streamer announced Thursday.

MGM+ renewed the sci-fi series, which centers on a monstrous town that traps its visitors, for a 10-episode third season, just days after “From” aired its season 2 finale.

After debuting its second season on April 23, “From” currently stands as the network’s second-most viewed series, behind only “Godfather of Harlem,” which was co-created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein and stars Forest Whitaker.

Created by John Griffin, the third installment of “From” will follow up on the season 2 finale cliffhanger, as “escape will become a tantalizing and very real possibility as the true nature of the town comes into focus, and the townspeople go on offense against the myriad horrors surrounding them,” per the official logline.

The WGA decided to leaflet outside Apple’s HQ as well as in various cities including LA, New York and Washington, DC.

In LA, a slew of writers went from protesting outside of Television City to The Grove, where Apple has one of its stores and handed out information about the strike to consumers interested in new iPhones and laptops.

With its list of new releases for April 2023, HBO Max is premiering the final episodes of two major shows.

First up is the continuation of Titans season 4 on April 13. Returning after a four month hiatus, these next six episodes will be the last go around for HBO Max’s gritty live-action DC series. Arriving three days later on HBO proper is the fourth and final season of Barry. Bill Hader and the rest of the Barry team wrote themselves into a fascinating corner with the conclusion of season 3. And judging by the first teasers for season 4, this final batch of episodes will indeed catch up with our favorite actor/hitman in prison.

Other TV shows of note this month include the Pete Davidson-starring animated series Fired on Mars on April 20 (light ’em up) the the Elizabeth Olsen-starring true crime story Love & Death on April 27.

Bill Hader returns for one final season of Barry and the popular sketch comedy A Black Lady Sketch Show kicks off its fourth season on HBO Max in April 2023. Additional highlights of the streaming service’s April lineup include the debut of Love & Death, a limited series starring Elizabeth Olsen and Patrick Fugit; season two of Somebody Somewhere with Bridget Everett; and the return of 100 Foot Wave for a second season.

In addition, the Titans mid-season premiere arrives on April 13. HBO Max offers this description of the fourth and final season’s remaining episodes: “The Titans – with the exception of Gar – are returned to the Temple of Trigon and rush to find Sebastian and Mother Mayhem before Sebastian summons Trigon. Exclusive: CBS Studios is developing The Mysterious Mortons, a detective drama series for CBS from Amy Rardin (Charmed), George Northy (Charmed), and Laurie Zaks (Castle), Deadline has learned.

The show follows a homicide detective who enlists his quirky family of mystery writers to assist him in cracking the cases that perplex the authorities.

Rardin and Northy will serve as writers and executive producers; Zaks executive produces under her banner Rosewood TV.

Rardin is currently an executive producer/writer on Amazon/Temple Hill’s Teton. She previously served as head writer and co-executive producer on Marvel/Disney+’s Echo, and co-creator/executive producer on the reboot of Charmed for the CW. Exclusive: Laurie Zaks and her Rosewood Television banner are adapting a series of novels from Roselle Lim after striking a development deal with ITV Studios America.

Zaks, who was behind popular ABC drama series Castle, launched her company in 2021. At the time, having spent seven years as Head of Television at Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman’s Mandeville Films, she had a deal with ABC Signature.

She recently struck a deal with the U.S. arm of the British broadcaster and production group, and this marks her first major development project under that new agreement.

Rosewood Television and ITV Studios America will adapt three novels by Lim, a Canadian author of Filipino-Chinese heritage, as series. Books include Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune, which was published in 2019; Vanessa Yu’s Magical Paris Tea Shop, which came out in 2020; and Sophie Go’s Lonely Hearts Club, which was published last year.

February is the shortest month of the year but Prime Video is paying that no mind with its jam-packed list of new releases for February 2023.

This really is an uncommonly stuffed month on the Amazon streamer and it all starts with a handful of Amazon Originals. Amazon’s original offerings kick off with the release of Dave Franco-directed romcom Somebody I Used to Know on Feb. 10. That is followed by Carnival Row season 2 – a gritty fantasy crime drama is set in a world of steampunky fairies. The show stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevigne and this batch of episodes will be its swan song. Meanwhile The Consultant on Feb. 24 is a dark comedy workplace thriller starring Christoph Waltz.

The biggest hits this month, however, might just be some recent cinema faves. If February is for lovers, Amazon didn’t get the memo as there are quite a few horror movies of note here.

The travels that ensue are not smooth, offering a good deal of action and laughs. Tim Burton's 1989 adaptation of the comics is often looked upon as one of the best realizations of the story of Bruce Wayne. A charismatic Michael Keaton dons the cowl in Burton's vision, and he is largely convincing as he protects Gotham from the evil clutches of Jack Nicholson's maniacal Joker.

It may seem strange now, but there was a time when superhero movies weren't taken seriously in the movie industry. After all, superheroes and the comics they originated from were often seen as fluff entertainment, primarily for children and teenagers. Movies like "Superman" and pretty much anything released by Marvel at this time solidified this.

This perception began to change in 1989 when Tim Burton's darkly comic take on "Batman" hit theaters. Although it was still tongue-in-cheek, Burton's version of Gotham was distinct in its moodiness, proving that comic books can be adapted into adult-oriented entertainment. However, the higher-ups at Warner Bros. were allegedly bracing for its failure, at least according to the 2016 book "Hit and Run" by Nancy Griffin and Kim Masters. The book centers around the rollercoaster careers of producers Jon Peters and Peter Guber, whose big gamble on the film was shrouded in skepticism throughout the Warner Bros.

In 2005, Christopher Nolan's "Batman Begins" introduced a darker and moodier version of the iconic superhero than had ever been seen on-screen before, and that angst and violence was further embraced by Matt Reeves' "The Batman" in 2022. For the first time in a while, moviegoers were given raw and brutal street fights between The Dark Knight and Gotham goons, and wanted more.

The overwhelming success of Nolan and Reeves' films proved that Batman fans longed for the tortured and barbaric version of the character after years of being dragged through goofy and childish portrayals of the vigilante in films such as 1966's "Batman," starring Adam West, and 1997's "Batman & Robin," starring George Clooney. Open-world video games offer an unprecedented level of freedom for players, and they're only getting better, more complex, and more detailed as time goes on. The most recent open-world games sport some truly massive cities that could theoretically double for the real thing, and more effort is going into making them as interactive as humanly possible.

Some of these games try their best to duplicate existing real-world cities, while others take inspiration from them to create new urban hubs. While some open-world games offer too little content, others offer maps overflowing with areas to explore and things to do.

Rhea Seehorn may have lost her first Emmy bid for the final season of “Better Call Saul” but she could well be back in the hunt next year. Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Rhea Seehorn is entering the “Better Call Saul” episode “Hit and Run” as her 2022 Emmy Award submission for Best Drama Supporting Actress. “Hit and Run” aired on May 2, 2022 and is the fourth episode of the AMC show’s sixth and final season.

In “Hit and Run,” Kim and Jimmy (Seehorn and fellow Emmy Award nominee Bob Odenkirk) “enlist the help of a local pro to put on a show for Cliff Main (Ed Begley Jr). The episode, which was written by Ann Cherkis and directed by Seehorn herself (her debut behind the camera), is also notable because it’s the first time Kim meets beloved “Breaking Bad” character Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks).

The joint venture will focus on the financing, development, and production of film and scripted TV projects in the 10M and under range.

The 2022 Emmys ballot for Best Drama Writing has 211 submissions, which will once again result in seven nominees in this category, something that has been consistent since 2020. Before we dive into this year’s likely writing contenders, let’s remember that last year’s winner was “The Crown” (“War” by Peter Morgan) and the other nominees were “The Boys” (“What I Know” by Rebecca Sonnenshine), “The Handmaid’s Tale” (“Home” by Yahlin Chang), “Lovecraft Country” (“Sundown” by Misha Green), “The Mandalorian” (“Chapter 13: The Jedi” by Dave Filoni), “The Mandalorian” (“Chapter 16: The Rescue” by Jon Favreau) and “Pose”.

A message to members of the TV Academy: Want the easiest way to placate grouchy TV critics? Nominate Rhea Seehorn for her work on AMC’s Better Call Saul.

This really should be a breeze. This isn’t one of those situations where you’re ignoring The Wire or the first few seasons of Friday Night Lights or The Americans entirely and so no one expects you to recognize their casts. Plus, didn’t you see how grateful folks were when Kyle Chandler and Matthew Rhys finally surfaced on Emmy radars, however belatedly? Saul is a perennial outstanding drama series nominee and a show that has picked up acting nominations for Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks and Michael McKean (albeit for the wrong season) over the years.

So why not Seehorn? Wait. No. Let me rephrase that. So how can you possibly keep ignoring Seehorn?...

“Kim has not seen ‘Breaking Bad,’ so she’s unaware of the wall they’re running into,” declares actress Rhea Seehorn about the character of Kim Wexler she plays on “Better Call Saul.” For our recent webchat she continues, “It’s much easier to make 1,000 slightly bad decisions than one giant bad decision.” Watch the exclusive video interview above.

“Better Call Saul” is midway through its sixth and final season. Developing her acclaimed character (which is shockingly yet to receive an Emmy nomination), Seehorn admits, “Other than knowing she was going to be allowed to be complex, everything else was just coming a piece at a time, a jigsaw puzzle piece at a time. It was a very interesting dance. I was doing my own subtext and background work while they were doing theirs. We just had this feeding off of each other’s material in a way that wasn’t even spoken sometimes.
