Technically, Billy Magnussen got his big break in an off-Broadway production when his performance prompted Academy Award-winner Meryl Streep to vouch for his first big role. From that point on, it was Into the Woods and across some of Hollywood's biggest box office hits, from Disney to James Bond, though Magnussen holds a special place for independent filmmaking. In fact, the actor is so passionate about the moviemaking process he launched his own production company, HappyBad Bungalow, and is currently planning on filming his directorial debut, The Ridge, soon.

Back in May last year, it was announced that No Time to Die star Billy Magnussen would be making his journey into the world of directing with his first feature project, The Ridge. Featuring a strong trio including his Game Night and Reunion co-stars Lamorne Morris and Chace Crawford alongside Jordan Firstman, the film is a survival thriller set in the Wyoming mountains where a trip to a bachelor party turns into a fight to stay alive against the rugged terrain. Since the initial announcement of the title and its cast, however, there's been little word about the status of filming or when it could be released. Collider's Steve Weintraub asked Magnussen about the project during a wider interview for his film Coup! with Peter Sarsgaard, and the first-time director detailed why the process has been so long and when cameras will finally get rolling.

Billy Magnussen has been keeping busy with some exciting projects of late, between preparing for his directorial debut The Ridge, and filming for the live-action Lilo & Stitch and the starry A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. However, the first of his upcoming works that may see the light of day could be the revenge thriller Violent Ends which he leads opposite Alexandra Shipp. The Southern revenge thriller was first announced last year after wrapping production in Northwest Arkansas and, according to the No Time to Die star, it's not far off from making the rounds on the festival circuit. During a wider interview with Collider's Steve Weintraub for Coup!, he teased exactly where audiences will be able to see his latest role first and shared a few insights on what it's all about.
