Much akin to Ayushmann's prior social dramas, which claim a large majority of his filmography to date, the film does effectively emancipate its core message but fails to create a long-lasting impression. Incompetencies not only did lie in the write-up, but the loopholes were also quite pronounced in its overall exhibition.
The humor doesn't function, the characters and their interrelationships are not explored enough, on the contrary, some of the peculiar character decisions make their case even more convoluted and breed needless contradictions. Apart from these, there are no other glaring missteps. Make no mistake, it is not a terrible film, but the kind of subject they have dealt with, it mandates a rather sincere attempt.

One of the film's strengths lies in its unique premise. By focusing on a male gynecologist in a predominantly female field, the film sheds light on the challenges and prejudices that come with breaking gender norms. The film effectively uses humor to address serious issues, making its social commentary accessible without feeling too preachy.
The supporting cast also deserves recognition. Shefali Shah and Rakul Preet Singh bring depth to their roles, offering performances that complement Khurrana's and add layers to the story. Their characters are well-developed, providing a balance to the film's comedic elements and grounding it in reality.
However, Doctor G isn't without its weaknesses. The romantic subplot feels predictable and sometimes unnecessary, detracting from the film's core themes. While the chemistry between the leads is pleasant, the romance doesn't add much to the story, and the resolution is foreseeable from early on. Similarly, some of the dialogue feels clichéd, lacking the sharpness needed to elevate the script to its full potential.
In the end, this film delivers a mixed bag, with its strengths lying in its thematic exploration and performances, while its weaknesses stem from a predictable romance and occasional lapses in dialogue. For those looking for a film that combines social commentary with laughs, the film offers an entertaining ride, even if it occasionally follows a familiar path.

While the movie has some shortcomings in storytelling, cinematography, script and overall art of movie making, it is a brave attempt to highlight issues lurking in our society.
For the people who hope for it to be a comedy movie or those who think it is addressing a social issue; both extremes will be dissatisfied after the movie.
Instead of defining what you expect the movie to be, taking it with an open mind will reveal a hidden commentary on social characters in our life.
Media will have us believe about the glamorous life of dating and partying and having "fun". Netflix and chills? This movie underlines what is real character and success.
Gynaecology is not the theme here. It was just a tool to highlight the majority male mentality. This movie is not a commentary on stereotypes associated with medical roles. It is a movie that primarily highlights how men behave and think especially with women who refused their proposal. Ask any of your female friends, how much insulting it can be to lose a friend after refusing a proposal. It reveals the motives of men in talking to women and the inability to maintain a platonic relationship or see their partners have platonic relationships.
The underlying thread in the movie is about this male mindset and not about a profession or a love story.
This movie is accurately tagged as drama. It is neither a documentary nor a comedy although it might share some parts from it.
While I won't place this movie as 10/10, it definitely doesn't deserve the extreme hatred it is getting in some reviews. I appreciate everyone so time and effort that went in producing this.
It's a brilliant effort and trying to send a message that not many dare to convey. A typical movie might have had their love story continue and keep the finny gag up and entertain the audience. But this movie took the road less travelled.

How a Gynecologist feels onboard as male dr. This is a real masterpiece example. From social thinking to personal believe. All scenes were relevant. The extra catchup was minor abortion and medical ethics. All good nice movie AK rocks!

Before interval everything seems interesting and after that everything changes to disappoint
You'll enjoy the first half of the movie as it is filled with good jokes and punch lines. In the second half everything goes down hill as the story takes a very different approach towards the characters.
The cast is really great as acting wise everyone does a fabulous job
I have given it a 7 star just coz of the performance by the actors. Other than that it will stoop even lower.
The song Step Copy was also missing from the movie, saw it on the YouTube ads god knows what was going on.
