The upcoming Harry Potter series may have found its Hagrid, and the choice could be the perfect person for the role!
One of the biggest challenges for HBO’s Harry Potter adaptation is going to be the casting. It’s one thing for fans of the long-running book series who have imagined the characters in their heads. It’s another when the 2001-2011 movie series had what some would consider near-perfect casting for each character.
The HBO show hasn’t officially confirmed their castings yet, but according to various sources, the planned cast will include John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.
Now, Deadline is reporting that Nick Frost is in negotiations to play Hogwarts’ groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid. As with the other castings, HBO has yet to confirm the news themselves. However, Frost himself seemed to tease it with an Instagram post saying,...

Alexandra Daddario is speaking up for herself against her harshest critics, who have accused her of not being a good actress. Daddario stars as Dr. Rowan Fielding on the hit AMC+ series Mayfair Witches. She has been acting on camera for over two decades, and yet she has often been dismissed by critics and some harsher fans online throughout her career. Even with a major award nomination under her belt, it still doesn't seem enough for some, and the actress is done with people saying she isn't good at her job.
Speaking with Elle magazine (via Variety), Daddario was asked what she thought was the "most outrageous rumor" about herself that won't go away. Daddario quickly answered, "That I’m a bad actress." Daddario points out that despite being nominated for an Emmy for her performance in The White Lotus, one of the most critically acclaimed series on air, her talents are constantly questioned.

In the world of television, whether that's network TV or streaming, there's constantly renewals and cancellations. It can be hard when we have to say goodbye to a show we love, but that's just the reality of it sometimes. However, what really hurts is when you get the news that a series has been renewed, and then that decision is reversed.
Over the last few years, that's happened to a quite a number of shows for various reasons. For some, it was the pandemic in 2020. Others, the 2023 writers and actors strikes took a toll. And then there are certain productions that are cancelled and the decision to bring them back was reversed, with no explanation given. As mentioned, there's a good number of series' that have experienced this. But here's four that we're disappointed by the most.

Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry reveals his prequel idea for the seminal ABC drama. The topic of rebooting Desperate Housewives resurfaces occasionally, usually around an anniversary or when one of the main cast members has a new project to promote. Cherry has largely maintained that a revival of the popular nighttime soap wouldn't work without the original stars, giving credit to Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, and Teri Hatcher. But his latest pitch sidesteps that entirely.
In new comments to People, Cherry shares his prequel idea for Desperate Housewives and mentions that it would be focused on the fictional street of Wisteria Lane. The prequel idea, which comes as the series is celebrating its 20th anniversary, would dig deeper into the central location that was the hub of so many secrets and scandals during the eight-season run of the original. Cherry explains in the quote below:

Lana Parrilla fans, rejoice! The actress is set to star in a new television project, and that definitely has us excited. I personally was introduced to Parrilla thanks to her role as Regina Mills/Evil Queen on hit fantasy series Once Upon a Time. She's so talented and I've been a fan since. And like many celebs that we become fans of, we like to follow and support their careers even after that initial show has ended.
Since Once Upon a Time, the actress has starred in Paramount+'s Why Women Kill, The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, and Jennifer Lopez movie, Atlas, which is also streaming on Netflix. And now, it's time for the next project! We'll need to tune in to new series The Rainmaker on USA Network, per Deadline. Though no release date has been shared yet, we have some information on what the series is about and who the star will play.

Why Women Kill captivates viewers with thrilling storylines and strong female leads in different historical timelines. Season finales deliver justice and closure for main characters, leaving some open-ended questions for viewers. The show's style and fashion evolve with eras, maintaining audience interest despite ambiguous endings.
In two seasons, Why Women Kill showed multiple storylines across different timelines in the most thrilling way possible, but not everything about the Why Women Kill ending was loved. While the show may owe its success to these entrancing storylines, there's no doubt the female leads played a huge role in making the show a fan favorite. Similar to other popular psychological thrillers led by women, Why Women Kill kept viewers on the edges of their seats throughout the seasons. The depiction of each storyline in the same house at different times in history added to the entrancement of the show. The biggest mysteries of...
When you begin watching Palm Royale on Apple TV+ tomorrow, you'll be whisked back to the lively and colorful Palm Beach of the late 1960s courtesy of Abe Sylvia, whose creative mind brought it all together.
Sylvia created, writes, and directs Palm Royale, which almost defies genres. It's a comedic period piece starring Kristen Wiig as Maxine Simmons, a woman who takes her future into her own hands, desperate to cross the line between the haves and have-nots.
As Maxine brings her daring plan to extraordinary life, she discovers that the lives she wants to crash aren't all they're cracked up to be.
Sylvia has an unusual heroine in Maxine, who is as aggravating as she is understandable, and he's ensconced her in high society with many vibrant and sly women and men eager to both embrace Maxine and hold her at a distance, depending on their needs at the moment.

Casting turnover is the name of the game when it comes to the Law & Order franchise. Through 23 seasons of the flagship series (and not even to mention the many spinoffs), Law & Order has cycled through dozens of casting combinations in filling out both the “law” and “order” halves of its ensemble.
When Law & Order returned for season 21 in 2022 after a lengthy hiatus, it looked like it had a solid detective duo in place with Anthony Anderson’s Kevin Bernard and Jeffrey Donovan’s Frank Cosgrove. Now, just two years later both actors are gone. Anderson departed after season 21 and Donovan after season 22.
Law & Order season 23 pairs Mehcad Brooks’ Jalen Shaw (who replaced Anderson) with newbie Vincent Riley, played by recognizable face Reid Scott. If you’re wondering who Reid Scott is and what makes him a good fit for this crime drama, don’t worry – we’ve got the answers.

Ending the year in signs is the hilarious, adventurous, sharp-tongued era of Sagittarius.
There’s truly nothing like them. They are quirky, mysterious and full of life. While they naturally grab the attention in the room, they feel most comfortable when they’re in their lonesome.
