    Absolutely beautiful movie

This movie is almost jaw dropping in its humanity of the human spirit. The characters, the acting, the dialog, the photography all perfect. Maybe the most effective parts of the movie are the Brechtian smashing of the 4th wall to reinforce points rather than a clumsy voice over. I did not plan to watch this movie but once the stories started rolling I could not take my eyes from the screen waiting to see how things turned out.

    a sweet little...

Womens liberation movie, that takes you from 1966-1976 california. A girls fight to stay put and fight for her rights as a woman, her rights as a single mum, her right to decide to have a child or not, the right for a decent job for equal pay, and the right to own your own house and property, without the consentual signature from a man...

it may sound like a boring replay of 1000's of film about womens rights, but it aint, its filled with action and feelings, its nonstop plot development, and that maybe the problem to make a movie over this topic, cause its such a humogouse vast issue to tell over 84 minutes. A 2 hour playlength and even a bit longer timeline could have made it even better.

Its a well proped and staged for its era of history, the technical production is good, and the story is told with an ever so increasingly brighter glow, and glow is important cause that is hope, hope for anyone and everyone. The main actress are doing a major job , there aint much looser pattern there.

So the next question is... will they make a sequel to this, there are still a vast empty space to fill until present, and billions of women stories to be told, and as chapter one this was reasonable, and the grumpy old man recommends.

    Inspiring, Heart Warming & Wrenching

Women Is Losers is not your typical film. This film succeeds through great writing, direction, acting, and cinematography. I kept saying wow that's a beautiful shot! I also felt myself moved to tears at multiple moments in the film. This film is bittersweet and stays with you! As an American of Latin heritage it felt healing/refreshing to see this Latin-American culture represented in a positive and inspiring way! This film is a must see! A great debut for Writer/Director/Producer Lissette Feliciano and Lead Actress/Exec Producer Lorenza Izzo.

Not a Loser of a Film.

Women is Losers is a beautifully tragic film. The film follows Celina, a young Latina woman navigating racism, sexism, and systemic oppression in the 1960s and 1970s. The movie begins with the idea that this film will serve as a form of alternate history for a group of people who haven't been able to tell their stories until now. It specifically highlights the struggles of Latina women, but it defiantly touches on other forms of oppression that existed at the time (and still do to a certain extent). There were defiant parts that reminded me of the Big Short, like when the characters stop to explain a given scene's historical significance or real-world facts. Lorenza Izzo gives a fantastic performance as Celina. I'm not really familiar with her work as an actor, but she blew this performance out of the water. In almost every scene, I just hurt Celina and wanted her to figure out a way to succeed. Chrissie Fit (Pitch Perfect 2 and 3) also has a supporting role. She absolutely killed it. I would probably even go as far as to say this is Chrissie Fit's best performance. In Pitch Perfect, her character is mostly there for comedic relief, but her character has some real depth in this film. In fact, all of the supporting characters are interesting in their own ways, which is part of what makes this feel so authentic. I won't give anything away because I feel like it is one of those movies where it is better if you don't know much about it going in. However, I would hope that people would go into this film with an open mind, as it touches on sensitive topics, like domestic violence and abortion. If the viewers are willing to do that, then I believe that this movie will not only challenge them to rethink the world, but it will also inspire them to never give up. Because after all, aren't we all Losers in some way?
