Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism

6/10

Wonderful blend of genres with a bit of depth hidden hidden under the silliness.

"AGM" begins with classic tropes and appears to be another run of the mill "new kid on campus" anime, but by the end of the first episode it's made a left turn into the bizarre and the viewer is left thinking it's going to be a harem.

Before long the series it does another turn, changing the focus again, but instead of feeling like a directionless anime the viewer begins to realize the casual and often silly show is growing the characters slowly and building the protagonist into something more than the typical letch.

By the last few episodes it's done another change of direction, adds some more serious character interactions, grown the "harems" depth a little more and suddenly gotten a bit dark.

When the credits roll I was pleased to see something with originality that also had a slightly off beat ending and left me wanting more even after giving the viewers some closure.

Pros:
  • Fun characters.
  • Good balance of genres.
  • Amusing and seemingly original ideas.
  • English Dubbing.
  • An OVA with dubbing.
  • No crazy "Fan Service" detracting from the story.

Cons:
  • Only one season.
  • Some predictability.
  • Inconsistent animation at times.
  • OVA's hard time find on standard streaming services.

A Deliciously Cheesy Anime

Busou Shoujo Machiavellianism's a wild ride! Fight scenes are lit, humor's on point, and the girls are lovable. Nomura's the ultimate chill dude, and I shipped him with every single one of them (don't judge me).

Pacing's a bit wonky, and some plot threads are left dangling. Last episode feels rushed, but I didn't care - I was too busy having fun.

My only gripe is we didn't get to see more of Nomura's relationships with the girls. A season 2 would've been amazing! More drama, romance, and feels, please!

It's a lighthearted, fun watch. Don't expect too much depth, and you'll be golden. Can we please get a season 2? Pretty please?

Extremely underrated.

In the beginning it feels like an average anime, but with each episode it gets better. The story's decent but the pacing is perfect, characters are good, animation is pretty nice as well. By the time you reach episode 6, you won't be able to stop. Give it a try, it's worth the watch!

I really liked it, I just rewatched it this 2021. And i already want a season 2 so please for the sake of the fans, make a season 2. I'm really counting on that. And for the makers. Please Continue your work, I'd be gladly interested in watching all of it.

Don't waste your time, it sucks

You don't know why the guys dress as girls to protect themselves, the main character is annoying af, and it's a typical harem anime where the guy beats up the girls trying to beat him up and they all fall for him.

You've seen all these characters before, the story you've also seen before. I won't say that isn't typical since certain anime follows a formula, but god this one is annoying. Like I've never been more annoyed and all the funny stuff they try to push kinda falls flat. The main character you don't care about and you know where this is headed.

It's boring. You can do something better with your time.

This is a really good and underrated anime, i especially like all the characters and their personalities especially the green haired girl. Im really wishing for a season 2 if possible.
