Excellent overall. Cast is great. It´s entertaining if you keep in mind that this is a fictional story along the lines of David and Goliath. Its about overcoming obstacles no matter how threatening or big they are. Just the thought of something like this happening is crazy. Not only do you feel the action and rush of the film you feel the emotion. They did a good job at making you feel what he felt as if it was real.

Great movie.

It's an action picture that will entertain people who like action pictures. The acting is not brilliant, but is good, and the whole movie works. I absolutely loved it! It´s a man´s fight with trauma and struggle to survive, and killing as many as he can, to stay alive.

A small zone in Lisbon, is attacked by an invasion force, and a lonely man must defend is home, at all costs, many of the bad guys are pretty one dimensional, but not all of them. One of the most intriguing characters is the Leader. Action scenes and stunts are well executed. It has great momentum and is never dull. It's not perfect by a long stretch but certainly is one of the most memorable movies released this year.

Lisbon is invaded by a hostile force and its up to one man to turn into 'the resistance' and fight back. It's all pretty cheesy and to think that only one man can make the difference here, we have to turn off our brain, just relax and enjoy it. There are some pretty intense and dramatic scenes, mainly involving the carnage the invasion brings.

Ultimately, don't take it too seriously, and you might have fun.

It´s a serious, sophisticated, fearless, action movie, that delivers the goods. it´s for action lovers only, awesome screenplay, fantastic acting, i liked the way it was directed and the plot was pretty interesting. It's Mayhem, Pure-And-Simple.

Great action movie, great storyline, love this ! This Invasion was a bloody good time. It reminded me of Michael Bay´s movies, over the top action, with fighters, army, patrol boats, miniguns, C130, buildings collapsed.

It's a movie about Portuguese people fighting for freedom, John is a lonely man who finds himself in the middle of this war, and has to fight back or loose his home forever, he and Nando made the lives of all the enemy soldiers a living hell. The special effects are good, the story is compelling, and the conversations on the radio, made the movie more exciting. The film's action is brutal and very entertaining. The actors were amazing as well. This is an awesome movie. I love it. It's one of my favorite movies.

This is a movie for those that live in the "conspiracy theory" era. Could it happen in the Portugal, absolutely. If an event like this were to take place we would need to bare arms and take the nation back, in this case the zone, because John´s zone is the last free zone, war arrives and he just kills and kills, like a machine (like the terminator)

it´s a movie I enjoy watching, but i think it needed more backstory to the main character,

The film is not for a second slow or boring, it's jam-packed with nonstop action and some really surprising twists that make it a spellbinding action thriller. This film is a must watch for action fans all over the world.

The best way to describe this movie is with an analogy. The "bad guys" parachuting into the town, killing all people in sight. (it has pointless action, not reaching for enough depth) took me out of it and kept it from being as good as it could/should have been. Too much violence, cinematography/SFX: 6/10. Special effects were alright. Bottom line: 5/10 (Not an average).

This movie have good combination of action and drama to make this movie incredible likeable. The fighting scenes were choreographed wonderfully. Excellent acting performance to all the characters.

This is a great fun action packed movie, that's worth a watch for sure!

Refuge 2099 is a great film, it has plenty of great action scenes and ones with intense drama. It does manage to keep its balance, that the action scenes seem pretty accurate and thought through. It is only a few times they go over the top and turn to over-violence, I'm especially thinking of the beginning, the invasion. To their credit is that they don't overdo the explosions, and doesn't rely on special effects to thrill. It is the story that drives this movie, only augmented and emphasized by the violence, not the other way around.
