Nushrratt Bharuccha has shown she can play characters in a wide variety of film genres in films like Love Sex Aur Dholka, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl, and Chhalaang. She showcases this once again with her newest release by playing the lead role in the paranormal horror film Chhorii. In our recent interview, Nushrratt revealed that Chhorii was genuinely exhausting but also very artistically satisfying, but you can hear more on that in a few lines.

Directed by Vishal Furia, Chhorii, is a remake of the Marathi film Lapachhapi tells a haunting tale of a modern, young couple, Sakshi and Hemant, based in the heartland of India. Sakshi, who is eight months pregnant, and Hemant are forced by challenging life circumstances to seek shelter in an isolated house surrounded by large sugarcane fields. The house is inhabited by an old couple who seem to know more than they tell.

Mumbai, Feb 17 (Ians) Nushrratt Bharuccha notes how rapper Honey Singhs songs have always been a highlight in her career as an actress, and adds that featuring in the video of his new song Saiyaan Ji has been special for her.

Nushrratt said: "Saiyaan Ji is close to my heart as it is my first single music video with Honey Sir. This is our fourth song together, after 'Dil chori', 'Care ni karda' and 'Chote chote peg' and with the song now crossing 100 Million views, we have maintained our winning streak."

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta on Saturday admitted his 2017 release Simran, starring Kangana Ranaut, was a mistake. He also compared the error in judgement to supporting Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal in the past.

"I supported him (Anna) in good faith. Like I later supported Arvind. I don't regret it. All of us make mistakes. I made Simran," he tweeted on Saturday.

The 2017 film is about a divorcee named Praful Patel who loses her savings in a gambling bout. She then takes a loan to set things straight, and when she is unable to repay it, she finds herself drawn into a life of crime.

The film, said to be based on a true story, faced controversy when screenwriter Apurva Asrani alleged that Kangana, who has been credited as additional dialogue and story writer of the project, tried to discredit him by claiming she had developed the story with Mehta from a one-line script.

Mumbai, Dec 2 (Ians) Rajkummar Rao has a suggestion for his fans. The Bollywood actor took to his verified Instagram account on Wednesday to share a photograph of his muscular frame, saying it was the result of hard work. The actor also exhorted fans to work hard on fitness.

New Delhi, Nov 30 (Ians) Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who is currently riding high on the success of his new sports drama Chhalaang, has revealed why sports-based films do well.

According to Mehta, the story of an underdog resonates with the audiences.

"I think everybody loves a good underdog story. Everybody loves sports and an underdog story. I mean who doesn't like an underdog fighting. Who doesn't love watching that? That is the reason my show 'Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story' worked because it is an underdog story," Mehta told Ians.

Mumbai, Nov 26 (Ians) Actor Rajkummar Rao was recently spotted engaged in a serious game of chess with veteran actor Paresh Rawal.

Rajkummar posted a picture of his game with Paresh on Instagram Stories and wrote: "Shatranj ke khiladi with the master player Paresh Rawal sir."

Rajkummar and Paresh Rawal will be seen sharing screen space in Abhishek Jain's upcoming comedy, Second Innings. The film also stars Kriti Sanon and Dimple Kapadia, and is scheduled for release next year.

National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta is all praise for actor Rajkummar Rao, with whom he has often collaborated. Mehta says the success of the actor makes him feel like a happy parent.

Rajkummar made his acting debut in 2010 "Love Sex Aur Dhokha". But it was through Mehta's film "Shahid" in 2013 that he gained recognition. The actor again collaborated with the filmmaker with projects such as "CityLights", "Aligarh", "Bose: Dead/Alive", "Omerta" and the recent digitally released film "Chhalaang".

Mumbai, Nov 16 (Ians) Actors Rajkummar Rao and Nushrratt Bharucha recreated the iconic scene from Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol love story "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge".

In an Instagram video Nushratt posted, the actress enacts Simran, Kajol's character in Ddlj, while Rajkummar plays Shah Rukh's Raj. The two are seen singing the number "Tujhe dekha toh" while posing in a mustard field.

"Bade bade deshon mein aise pyaare pyaare videos bante rehte hai @rajkummar_rao," she wrote as the caption.

Rajkummar posted a picture on his Instagram. In the image, the actor is seen posing in the gym. His back is towards the camera while he is shirtless and is sporting just gym pants.

New Delhi, Nov 14 (Ians) Actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik believes that less Hindi films are made for children, and that there are no buyers for films in the genre in India.

"Children's films are hardly made. If they are made, they don't get a proper theatrical release. One or two films go to film festivals," Kaushik told Ians.

The actor-filmmaker, who had produced and acted in the 2017 film, School Chalega..?, added: "Abroad, children's film genre is huge. But if we make such films, no distributor will take the film. There are no buyers for children's films."

The new version, sung by Asees Kaur and Dev Negi, is part of Hansal Mehta's upcoming film, Chhalaang, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Nushrratt Bharuccha. The new song has updated lyrics by Panchhi Jalonvi.

After the launch of the new version, Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjianii tweeted this message: "We have been very kindly credited here, only because we composed the original #DeedaarDe in 2004. However, we haven't done this "remix". That said, best wishes to the film and team. Thanks for loving our music down the years."

New Delhi, Nov 11 (Ians) Critically acclaimed actor Rajkummar Rao is proud of his filmography, but he says he does not watch his past works again in order to analyse his performances.

Last month, the 2013 biographical drama "Shahid", which fetched him a National Award, turned seven. Mumbai, Oct 22 (Ians) Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh says filmmaker Luv Ranjan has a great understanding of music, and knows which song will work in a particular script.

The rap star has created the peppy track "Care ni karda" for Ranjan's upcoming co-production, "Chhalaang", starring Rajkummar Rao and Nushrratt Bharuccha. In the past, Ranjan has used Yo Yo hits such as "Dil chori" and "Chhote chhote peg" in his 2018 directorial, "Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety".

"Luv Ranjan understands any song in just one go. He knows which song will work for his film and which won't. When he chooses a particular song, he makes sure to shoot it pretty well. The song was written by Alfaaz and sung by a Punjabi vocalist, Sweetaj Brar. Once it was finalized for 'Chhalaang', me and Hommie (Dilliwala) wrote the rap," Singh said.

The makers of Chhalaang dropped the trailer of the film on Saturday and it is all about Rajkummar Rao and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub's fight for pride. The duo feature as Pt teachers in the film that also stars Nushrat Bharucha.

The first half of the trailer shows how Montu (Rajkummar Rao), a "typical Pt Master for whom it's just a job," falls in love with fellow teacher at his school - Neelu (Nushrat Bharucha).

However, his life takes a new turn after another Pt teacher - Mr Singh (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) - arrives at the school and becomes the villain of Montu and Neelu's love story.

The second half of the trailer shows that Montu, who loves his job but cannot sacrifice his pride for it, is hell-bent on defeating his senior Pt teacher and for that, he starts training his students for a tough competition - a competition for pride.

Mumbai, Oct 16 (Ians) Actor Rajkummar Rao says working with children for the first time on his upcoming film, Chhalaang, was a great experience, adding that they bring more value to the story.

Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film narrates the story of a Pt Master Montu (played by Rajkummar Rao), and addresses the importance of sports education in school curriculum, in a light vien.

"I had a great time with the children on the sets of ‘Chhalaang', both on camera and off camera. They are the real stars. They were natural, phenomenally talented and have added so much value. Their enthusiasm levels are absolutely commendable, even when the temperature went from extreme heat to winters, these children had the same vigour while shooting and they really inspired all of us," Rajkummar said.

The film also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha, who will be seen as a computer teacher.

Nushratt took to Instagram, where she shared a video. In the clip, she is seen building a wardrobe.

Highly anticipated theatrical titles “Coolie No 1,” with Varun Dhawan, and “Chhalaang,” starring Rajkummar Rao, are amongst films across five Indian languages that will bow directly on Amazon Prime Video India, bypassing cinemas.

The films were due to release over the summer, but the spread of the coronavirus pandemic saw Indian cinemas shutter in March. They will begin reopening Oct. 15, after seven months.

Dibakar Banerjee's cult film "Love Sex Aur Dhokha" was released 10 years ago on this date and Nushrat Bharucha, who had a prominent role in the film, feels deep gratitude for having worked in the film.

An old photograph from an unreleased Ajay Devgn film is grabbing eyeballs on social media.

The hitherto-unseen pic, clicked on the sets of a film titled "Naam" that never got completed, was released by its director Anees Bazmee. It shows Bazmee explaining a shot to Ajay in an outdoor location.

Bazmee took to Instagram to share the photograph. The image was clicked in Switzerland where a sequence of the film had been shot. The unreleased film also starred actresses Sameera Reddy and Bhumika Chawla.

Captioning the picture, Bazmee recalls the scene was one of high drama, with Ajay's protagonist out hunting for his wife and kids at that point in the story. He added the film was a suspense thriller.
