I only have vague memories of this story, so this doc was great at filling in the gaps. I had no idea what a nightmare Monica went through and she comes across as extremely sympathetic. Good thing her mom made her tell the truith though I doubt I'd survive the aftermath of doing so.
They got most of the major players to participate; Lucianne Goldberg was especially entertaining and I wish we heard more from her. I also would love Drudge and Ann Coulters take but they were aonly briefly alluded to and didnt participate.. Finally Paula Jones comes across as sane and thank god she finally got rid of that perm!

The number of people who claimed to interpret the Lewinsky scandal as a sex scandal is abhorrent.
The president LIED UNDER OATH.
The fact that he was acquitted by the Senate is abhorrent.
Trent Lott said "I thought he was guilty of two or three offenses, but how guilty?"
Well Trent, guilt does not have degrees. You are guilty or you are not guilty.
Perhaps there are degrees of charges, but a charge of lying under oath is one of the most serious charges that can be leveled against the person who is sworn to uphold and abide by the Constitution and the laws of the country.
Bill Clinton goes down as one of the worst presidents of all time.

I was totally riveted to this well-told story; I now realize there was so much I didn't know about this situation. Monica comes off as very sympathetic and graceful; its basically her story. Even though Linda Tripp was not interviewed, the filmmakers had enough material and skill to make it seem like she was.

One of the best docuseries made where the viewer makes up his mind in this unbiased masterpiece.

Fairly presented, all inclusive accounting of events from a very factual and documented offering.
Leftist or Rightist, a must-see.

I didn't think much of Monica Lewinsky when all this took place. Now after watching The Clinton Affair, I find myself very sympathetic. But Linda Tripp makes me sick. Anyone claiming to be her friend should watch out!

My heart just ached for Monica when I watched this. I knew in my heart of hearts when this story first broke it was all true. I watched the media spin her into something she was not and it sickened me to the core. Finally the real truth is here before us and we see a pattern of who the Clintons really are. Unfortunately, over the years the Clintons have gotten even better with their game craft. What a disappointment they are to our country! I cannot believe the Liberals actually support these people! It sickens me to the core!

Starts of promisingly, first two episodes are excellent (8stars), but then the producers realise that they need to milk this one for every ounce of potential scandal mongering juice. So from episode 3 there is a distinct editorial drag. Elements of the scandal are dragged out, stretched and elongated well beyond any useful value. Elements sitting at the periphery of the scandal are dragged kicking and screaming into unnecessarily lengthy focus.
What a shame :-(

I really feel sorry for Monica and the way she was dragged thru the mud by THE PRESS as well as all of the females (Paula Jones, et al) that this sexual predator attacked. Monica was a young and impressionable woman and was being hit upon by the "most powerful man in the world". Sure she was starry-eyed but that was no reason for this predator to take advantage of her and then LIE about it and throw her under the bus. I never believed clinton and to this day he as well as Hillary are a pair of LIARS! He perjured himself again and again and should have been Impeached.
I was saddened, at the time, that he was not impeached that it made me sick and still does. His connections, "charm" and the lack of GUTS in the Senate to take this to it's proper conclusion (for political reasons) is just as sickening.
Beware dear viewers as we may see a do-over in the House of Representatives against President Trump now that the Liberals are back in control. Let's see how many "alleged" smoking guns they can come up with like they did during the JUSTICE Kavanaugh hearings (who by the way you can see in the background of many of the film clips of this amazing documentary).
Standby America, it's going to be a bumpy ride...

We all know the story: Bill Clinton, at the time the President of the most powerful country in the world, has a fling with a white house intern, then (shockingly) lies about it when the story comes out. There is no reason to repeat it, except as revision for a post "me too" social milieu. When it occurred Clinton and Lewinsky had a sort of shared blame as consenting adult cavorting porkers. Since then balance of blame has changed, and now all the responsibility is supposed to go on the male in the equation. Also, childhood has been extended to like, what 30 ? Since then, so they try, unsuccessfully, to portray her has a "child".
The story is as old as man, probably happened to the guy who painted that cave wall horse head 50000 years ago, as groupies threw themselves at the dude for his known art work that would become famous.
Up until about the time Gary Hart got busted in the late 80s, the press used to look the other way, a sort of polite nod to decency. Oh, how the world has changed. Presidents who cavorted in the white house pool naked with starlets before, but no more, but are we better for it? Should we really stick our noses up into peoples, even our leaders, private....uh... sex lives? Would you want the nose of the media up into yours? I like my 86 year old mother's take when told Clinton got stung for lying during the investigation: "Why were they investigating something so silly to begin with?". Yes , Clinton had sex, we all do, yes he defecates , we all do. Should it be news? Do they really think that natural bodily functions mean THAT much? Notice, when the Lewinsky scandal hit, Clinton's approval ratings went UP. Other than as a political weapon, It's the press that cares, not substantial numbers of the public.
Monica seems like a nice girl, I respect her attempt at loyalty. She knew what she was doing, and was an adult who's life didn't have to be changed forever. She was victimized by the investigators , the media, Ken Star and the FBI. Clinton finished out his term, made policy good and bad, including unraveling Glass Stegal and allowing the 08 crash to eventually occur. It seems that THAT is more worthy of a five part series , as a multi trillion dollar hole was blown in the economy because of it. I watched the series but feel like you do when you finish a big mac and fries, junk food for the brain, and you feel regretful for having devoured sleaze.
Interesting that we never hear from Clinton: did he suffer when he ended it? Was he in love with her? Was he in a loveless marriage and seeking emotional fulfillment? Did he feel forced to end it? We'll never know, because he is the male, so it doesn't matter.

It was interesting to note that the real cause of the affair was Newt. If he hadn't shut down the government, Monica would have never made it to the White House. We all would have been spared the Drama! And maybe Linda Tripp would have turned out to be a decent human being.
This is an interesting, provocative and worthwhile documentary. The weaving of the Paula Jones case, Whitewater and the Monica affair puts the Clinton presidency into historical perspective. Monica's emotional honesty is touching, and Clinton's using her is clearly his Achilles heel.
Gingrich and Limbaugh are the perpetrators of the polarization we are experiencing today. Shame on both of them.
