    Super

It's a masterpiece. I watched with awe! Waited as lovers of soap series are waiting! I hate TV series though. As a well-known blogger would say: I would give my ass to this director :) !

I look forward to continuing and I hope that the team that filmed this will remain in the same lineup! Wouldn't want to be disappointed! P. S. Musical selection and entry by the minute, arrangement; not always but 95% perfect! The plot is great (ready to give ass :) )! The acting is just top notch. And of course, editors! Everything would not have looked like this without their brilliant investment in the profession. These people clearly understood what they were doing. Super! Super! Super!

The best Russian series since "Brigada"

It's been a while since I saw anything but Hollywood famous series. My wife acidently found this gem online, and I thought I'd give it a try, as the name suggests it might have been a Russian remake of arrested development. How I was wrong... This series is so much better! It's an amazing, smart and funny satire at Russian reality of politics and every day life. We finished watching it in two days time in the middle of the week, which given our work schedule is nearly impossible task, yet it was worth every minute of wasted sleep time. The acting couldn't be better. The main (anti)-hero is a corrupted mayor of a mid size town somewhere in Russian, who was caught on a bribe and is forced to live in the community housing. He steals nearly every scene he's in. Each and everyone of the cast, play their part to perfection. There are very funny references to both Russian and Hollywood culture from early 90'th. In short, amazing series which story in most parts can't be predicted, so you're in for a treat. I took a star of perfect rating, due to a bit slow story development ag the beginning, and less than perfect acting of teenage actors, who couldn't hold their own against their grown counterparts. Still they were very good. Highly recommended.

    Best Russian TV series

This is the best thing that Russian television has done.

    Comedic Realism of Russia

This comic TV series focuses on justice, government interdependent relationships, and specific elements of Russian households. The feud between old friends is just the background for this show, opening the viewer's eyes on social-economic problems of low-income families and how the people deal with these issues in Russia. Domashniy Arest (House Arrest in English) is full of memorable quotes and "marginalized wisdom. " ("Podvinut' Vovy" - move out Vladimir *Putin* - it is about building a political career from grass roots support and from a mayor of a small unknown town becoming a national leader. Another example is "zhadnost' comnatnoy temperatury" - room temperature greed - it means moderate level of avarice which all successful politicians must posses.) The storyline is based on an unlikely plot for Russia, wherein one person without any ties with political establishment and governing experience gains the popular support through social media. It opens some opportunities for a poor alcohol-addicted middle-aged guy, Samsonov, for achieving social mobility and advancing from a blue-collar worker to a white-collar group. Culturally, this comedy shows some actual elements of everyday life in a provincial town with its sexual harassments, power abusing, corruption and extortion. If "Wire" and "Shameless" reveals how American society works, then "House Arrest" accurately represents how Russian society lives.
